Jen convinced me to reply.  First of all I had a hell of a time to pry that dog out of her hands. Everything she said about Brix is true, stubborn, hardheaded, one track mind and smart. I was going to try schutzhund with him, but as he started to grow I realized how light on his feet he was, example,  jumped onto the kitchen counter from a stand still, made himself an agility dog on the spot.  Can not say enough about all the looks and questions when out in public, (most common being my GSD doesn,t look like that or will you breed him to my female).  Demands to be worked at least twice a day, starting at around 5:00 AM, fortunately I am self employed so he goes to work with me and my other GSD.  Jen had the breeding of a life time with her B litter.

Wow, he looks so much like his dad Chico.  Yes, Brix was a real attention seeker and go getter when he was a little guy.

But he was still a sweet puppy, at least when i saw him at 5 weeks and 8 weeks.  I liked him but i knew he was trouble. lol.

I see Chico in him, but if you look closely, it's coloring more than anything. He still has that "clearly Capri!" look about him...or maybe I just see it so clearly because I live with her. He's the best possible combination of the two, I think. Bravo is a mini-Capri, of course being bicolor, naturally he looks "more" like her. His head is very Capri, but his muzzle has Chico's influence. Did I mention that I tend to over-analyze?

Between what I experienced with Brix, what I know of Bravo, what I've heard of Bravo from sources I admire and respect, and what I hear of Blair, I think I really did well with that "click" and will be doing it again in August if I can.

Nadeem, post some updates on Bravo here if you want, or start him his own thread. Don't be shy;-) I hear you're doing fantastic with him!

Thanks Jen for the nice words, don't know if we are doing fantastic but we are doing our best :)

I will post some pics on Friday for you and everyone.

Jen I just wanted to tell you what a beautiful boy Brix is.  Rightfully you should be very proud.  Also you keep talking about Capri, I finally went and looked at her pedigree page and man what a beauty.  Being as how I am sort of a female dog type girl, makes her even more beautiful.  I've read all your posts about how you select dogs and what you are looking for and I admire your tenacity in what you believe in.  Kudos to you and even tho we agree to disagree on certain things glad I got to know you....................

I'll be waiting, Nadeem. And don't be so modest; I have heard from SEVERAL sources how great you are doing with him. I have had compliments on the dog, sure, but the handler deserves a good bit of that credit. Some of those people who said such things didn't even know I knew you, let alone bred your dog.

Thanks, vonissk. I appreciate that.

Does that mean Pri's pics are back up on her pedigree??? Yay! I'll have to go see.

Saw Chico at Gordie Esselman's trial last year and was very "under" impressed.  I guess it just speaks of people's inexperienced opinions.

Duderino chimes in "I guess it just speaks to people's inexperienced opinions."

Maybe.

Or maybe it speaks of a quality bitch who produces the same pups regardless of whether she's bred to a goat, a National competitor, or the neighbor's Labrador. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Or maybe, it seems, you simply have a differing opinion of Chico than the judge, and many many others. Here is an excerpt:

"At his new korung on May 31, 2009 under Special attributes: Male with very dominant prey and defense drives. Under breed recommendations: Recommended to improve working abilities. He also qualified for the 2009 National Championship with 98, 96, 98 for 292 points.

Duderino, as usual, thank you for your enlightening comments.

And again, I wasn't impressed.  I was there and witnessed the 56-83-81.  Hosting Santa Claus to get a qualifying score doesn't say much.  Searching for that O.G. Bierstadt score but don't seem to be able to find it.  Point is, if you are going to brag about how stupendous a dog is, maybe you should back it up and stop trying to take advantage of and sell puppies to people who don't know any better.

I am bragging about BRIX VOM EISENHERZ. Chico vom Inheidener See can hold his own, just ask anyone who knows him. He needs no defending against you. I chose to breed to him based on his character, evidenced by his behavior while I was at his home. I saw exactly what I wanted to see- strength, stability, balance, and all the other good stuff that made me say "YES" before leaving my bitch there to be bred to him. I never did ask to see his scorebook, because anyone who knows anything knows that you can't just judge a dog by his scorebook. cheeky

LMFAO. You obviously don't know who has and are working some of her puppies to say I take advantage and sell to amateurs. THAT, is hilarious. But you couldn't possibly know that, because they have better things to do than lean on their cane and harass people on forums all day.

I hate to say anything that might confuse you, but did you know that a sire only contributes SOME of the genetics in a breeding? Yes, it's true. Now, when you're done digesting that Earth-shattering fact, come back and tell me what one bad performance due to unforseen circumstances has to do with anything that was being discussed here about BRIX.

I'll be waiting, Phil.
