I'm with you, Gustav. I read his post this morning and felt very sad. He shared himself. Wasn't here to promote anything. Loved looking at his landscaping, etc. Just a nice, normal guy. Took the time to contribute and should be respected for THAT.
Reminder-----I copy what I post and any thread I'm on. If deleted, it will be forwarded to Oli.

I fully agree with you and that was very well said. It is a shame that people like Ulli feel compelled to leave. But I completely agree with Ulli. His thread was locked before I could respond to him.

When thought provoking material is removed..
We are stuck with a thoughtless and drab,
kind of feeling. Like, why bother.
Gustav very good observation.

I feel the sincerity in your words, I am sad to see one of the good guys leave and I'm afraid more will do the same if no quick proper action is taken by the moderators themselves, not necessarily the owner. I bet on the maturity and professionalism of German Shepherd Dog moderator and his fellows to take immediate vital and necessary initiative.

When you have one member who pushes other members and moderators to say things they would not say normally, it is a problem and it is my job to fix the problems.
I have unlocked Ullis thread and Pirates Lairs threads. If these threads become a one person cry for attention that poster will be dealt with.
The members here have had plenty of years to try this without moderation and it did not work. We are volunteers, we do not get paid to do this.
When you are on this side it is different and none of you can say you would do different on this side.
We apologize for locking/deleting any threads that perhaps did not warrant locking/deleting. There is still a learning curve for all of us, especially since moderating on this forum is for all of us, is a relatively new venture. We will try to do better in the future, and appreciate your support and patience.

I think the mindset of "locking the thread" is really ticking people off. A real good thread doesn't come around that much IMO, then presto it ended. A lot of people are posting a lot less because of this.

So what if someone calls someone else a butthead, do we all have to sugar coat everything? That is not reality.

If we delete threads people are ticked off, if we remove the offenders and block them people are ticked off if we lock threads people are ticked off.
WTH!!!
