Attended an Ivan Balabanov seminar this past weekend. As it turned out, out of 14 dogs, 5 of them were German Shepherds. And all 5 Shepherds were eichenluft dogs!!

And this got me thinking about the "gentlemen" who like to refer to puppies that Molly has produced as "doorknobs".
I take offense to this, and not only because I own an eichenluft dog, but I have met many great people who own eichenluft dogs. These dogs are in working homes, and are doing excellent!
My dog is certainly NOT a doorknob, actually, quite the opposite.

Brag warning:
Ivan actually stated that I have a really nice dog. He showed a lot of interest in him, and told me the he really liked him. At 14 months old, my dog Arko was noticed by several people at the seminar. I was approached about how nice of a dog he was and was asked where I got him.
I went to the seminar to work on a specific task: retrieving.
On friday, Arko was totally green to the dowel, and by Sunday he was holding on command, crunching, and walking around with the dowel without mouthing. (all foundation for the dumb bell)

His bitework was very strong, especially on a brand new helper! Calm and very full grips!

Here are some pictures from the seminar!

I know this is a silly question, but what's a doorknob?

by Ibrahim on 19 January 2011 - 08:01

I am also not very sure what the exact meaning of door knob is but I can guess it is negative and means something like good only for indoors, to open a door for a visitor or something like useless dog. Anyway though I am far away from the U.S, never saw Eichenluft or one of her dogs but keeping an eye on her posts and what people feed back on her dogs, she is a real person, has a lot of knowledge, committed to her breeding program, and has a strategy. She is what I call a professional breeder. She is not the only one on this forum, but she is one of the good ones and the best thing about her is if you seek her opinion she will provide you a sincere one, just like Rik, Hans, Sonora, AandA, Silbersee, Gustav, Steve1,Slamdunc........  .

Good morning to all members especially to the nice breeders who provide us with dogs we are proud to own and enjoy their company, good morning to all the members who share their knowledge and expertise with us free of charge for the sake of wellness of dog and owner. Good morning Eichenluft and do keep the good work.

afwark, what a great experience. And that photo of all of you together with Ivan is fantastic.  Definitely wall-worthy!
