Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I took a trip down by the local shelter today and saw a very lovely dog there whos owner had to give him up a few months back. I may look into adopting him or I will begin looking at different shiloh breeders and consider getting a pup from them.

Nitric,

Good for you for having the gumption to take some advice and at least go look at the local shelter. Remember, that dog may be in peril. If it is a good dog, what a great thing to keep it from possibly being put down etc. Good luck in whatever you do.

Keith Grossman, hodie,
What are you saying? Did the other party just pm you or did  you mean they pm you months ago about this matter ?

Not a fan of the big hairy oversized 150lb German Shepherds.  It's not what the breed was developed for.  The breed is supposed be be able to work, with quick lightening speed.  At that size, its not possible.  Do you think a dog that size can go over a 12 foot wall..NOT.  Stick with the breed standards.

Is it just me or don't her dogs look like a cross lines of GSD with Kavkaskaya Ovcharka?
I mean those dogs get 140-160 pounds easily..

http://www.aacoo.net/breedstandard.htm

after looking at the Ayers web site and seeing tons of pictures I must say I do like the look of her dogs and I personally never liked long haired anything...her dogs look well taken care of, i think the oldest one i seen listed was 7 years old listed under her previous pups->more adult dogs links... anyways.. I can see the attraction people would have towards her dogs regardless of the standard or other people opinions. Besides regardless what anybody says size does matter.

Nitricxlove,

I have just one point to make – her dogs are not registered or nowhere recognized as purebred German Shepherd Dogs. They have no pedigrees, so there is no proof that they are purebred GSDs as well. For all we know – to achieve the size she could have mixed in another breed few generations back.
The fact is that they may look a lot like GSD but you have no proof that those are not mixed breed dogs (i.e part St. Bernard, etc.) I don’t say they are – I say that you don’t have a way of checking it.

She doesn’t post any pedigrees of her own dogs, so you don’t even know if she breeds father to a daughter or not. The point of registering your purebred dogs is to be able to track their history, i.e. inbreeding or line breeding. The fact that all her dogs have no pedigree is not a coincidence. Their reasoning behind not registering her dogs just makes me personally suspicious.

Ayers Long Coat GSDs breed what they have or like and you are free to buy a puppy from the breeding she did. This can be the best dog you have ever owned...

Ayers' puppies are way out of standard and they are not registered as GSDs - large size and long hair is a major fault in a standard and anybody who breeds those faults on purpose will be recognized here as a reputable breader of GSDs. Reputable breeder breeds to a standard and registers litters, provides new owners with pedigrees, so they know where they puppies come from. It looks like buying puppy from Ayers is like buyng puppy from a neighbour who has Sassy and Rex...

And again - it can be exactly what you are looking for...

Quote from their website:

"NO BREEDERS PLEASE

We DO NOT sell to breeders and we hold the papers til our pups get spayed or neutered and our contract does not allow for the dogs to be registered under ANY other registry. This info has been up for years & is on my other pages as well. "

Another quote from their website that makes me think...

"I will be letting most of my girls go so I can keep 4 new young girls here, from precious Miss Daisy/Sammy lines,(and Summer) that may be my last girls as I am getting older now."
