People remember Travels....don't worry. Some are just not adept at searching.

I did. I saw one post about Ayers Shepherds but I was still sort of confused as to what the big issue was. One person posted and said that the dog they got from her was healthy and happy so I didnt see the big problem.

In making this thread I was just hoping to see if anyone else had any experience with Ayer's thats all.

Check out this link then. There are others. Make of them what you will.

Well what happened was very unfortunate with the pup. But this was just one breeder. I understand how people can get ripped off from puppy mill breeders, hence why I only wanted to know if anyone else had any expericne with sandy ayers' dogs.

Shilohs bred by the breed founder's organization, which you were given a link to, (the ISSR) are NOT high drive.

There are OTHER so-called Shilohs out there bred by other organizations which are actually Shilohs bred to high-drive working line German Shepherds. Now THOSE will likely be high drive! (DUH!)  And they MAY be called "Shilohs' but they aren't.

The Shiloh was bred to be the perfect family pet: good with kids and other dogs, a laid-back couch potato in the house, but wiling to romp with the kids and play ball and go on hikes when outdoors. Most of them will protect the home, if there is a genuine threat, but they are not a dog you'd want to buy if you were planning to do schutzhund.

Nitricx,

Looks like you have your mind made up and set on one of these dogs. People are here are telling you things and you still have your mindset.  Go ahead and buy one then. Good luck to you and your pup/dog.  I hope you have a long happy life with the pup you choose. Honestly.

"Search the messageboard for this kennel. They were the ones who kept the fighting going on last year, this board was littered with their BS. I can't believe nobody else remembers!"

If you don't, you soon will or am I the only one who got a PM from the other involved party?  Either way, not my problem; not interested in your drama.

Nitricxlove, if you're genuine, there are thousands of dogs languishing in shelters and rescues all over the country that fit the description of what you're looking for in every sense of the word.  You can choose to save one of their lives or you can line the pockets of someone responsible for breeding dogs that end up there and encourage her to continue doing so.

You have a dog that you adopted from the shelter; that's great.  Go look at him, scratch his head and give him a hug.  Think of all he's given you and how little he's asked in return.  Now consider that had you not adopted him, in all likelihood he'd be dead right now like tens of thousands of others like him every year.  The choice of whether you want to continue to be part of the solution or become part of the problem is entirely yours to make.

 Keith,

I too got an unsolicited PM.....a lot of wackos on this board. Just block them.

Keith -- Are there a lot of Shiloh's in the Rescues and Shelters?   If she were to get a Shiloh through  a reputable breeder, then what is the big deal.   Of course, she has her "ideal dog" in her mind's eye and that is what she wants.   I don't understand giving someone a hard time or trying to make them feel guilty for wanting a Large, Long-haired, Low-Drive Dog that resembles the GSD -- Shiloh !   Perfect fit !

........and they are BEAUTIFUL to boot !!!

....and they come in a wide variety of colours, too!

BTW, another thing that bugs me about the long coat oversize GSDs is they are also OVERWEIGHT!!

My Shiloh shepherd's father (pictured above) is 31 inches tall, and weighs ONLY 120 lbs!

These dogs are under 30" and some weigh in at 140 lbs!
