Check this one out. Nice way to cross work and show? I think she's beautiful. And another question. Those who do not encourage breeding long haired dogs. Would you pass up breeding this girl if she turned out to be a good dog? I mean if you did a breeding that meant a lot to you and the best pup was a coated dog would you still breed him or pass on the genes?  In no way meant to be antagonistic in any way to any one.

I don't think very many on this board would breed that dog. A DDR/show cross? I'd pass....

Look again, Nitro. The pedigree says the dog is MALE!  And, though it's hard to tell through all that hair, I think they're RIGHT!

I've seen better showline/working line crosses.

I would not breed this dog due to the combination of the coated and the light, washed out eyes.

Much better dogs out there to be bred than to add to the overpopulation through a dog like this.

I agree with everyone else--I love the DDR dogs but...............and I don't care for coats......................

NO:  he/she is a pet quality dog and should not be bred.

 Best to neuter him.

And the novice is exposed! Okay, but what about the second question?

And GSDGuy08, why not cross DDR to showline? The dam's sire was an LGA competitor and so I am assuming that she comes from workable showlines. Would it be better to cross showlines to west german working lines, or Czech dogs? Or do you think it's too risky to do any out-cross breeding?

Kelly-J, you are right. In this litter i guess it wouldn't be justifiable to use this guy, but I really like them all.
