Hi all,
I've found a lot of forums that focus on DDR and East german dogs but haven't been able to find one on West German line working dogs...
Does anyone know one that they could direct me to??

I think that a good description that is very general, is that there are very strong groups for the DDR / East German dogs because often their goal is to preserve that 'specific' type of german shepherd
(ie, large bone, blocky head, more civil and less prey etc.). Whereas the West german dogs are of a different type more often used as sport dogs. But because there is less emphasis in losing this type, there is less emphasis in sticking together... I think.

Why do you need to distinguish between east German/DDR and west german working blood lines?
I think the wall is long gone. Now the bloodlines are very much mixed up by now! Only a very small group is still able to breed the pure DDR blood.
So just say, you 'd like to find a forum about working bloodlines! And therefore the best one is the already mentioned www.schaeferhund.net/wbb2
I can really recommend it. And there you can find and talk about "everything" : "East" and "West" I you want, but best "Working dogs".

The wall is down and there is no more East and West Germany.
Apparently they now call the place Germany !!
