AandA,
Hessel is a great dog to have in my kennel. He commands respect but gives just as much respect in return. His drives and AMAZING....ball drive, food drive.....he is extreme in every drive!!!! He often is a handfull when he doesn't get enough exercise! He gets along fine with all females and I have had him around every young male in my kennel and he pays them no attention also gets along with small dogs too. I have not allowed him around any adult males....probably won't either. He is the perfect size dog as well.....not big but upper medium.....just the size I like! I am quite enamoured and feel blessed to be his handler! The bonding process with him is slow but we are getting there and I look forward to training him soon! He also works like he is a 2 year old dog.....just full of so much vigor!!

Vickie, I can fully undestand your (obvious) pride, joy & admiration with Hessel because he sounds to be a real good solid dog. What I would call a 'proper' dog & it's nice to know such hounds still exist.
He probably doesn't suffer fools gladly (if at all!) and I bet he's also a one person dog. But the more time spent with him exercising his body & mind the greater the respect & the deeper the bond becomes - from both sides. Which is what it's all about really...
Enjoy your dogs & when you next see Hessel give him a quiet "Good lad" and a pat from me.

there is but be willing to keep breeding until you get that poison bitch that throws hard dogs if breed to a good male.the bitch is the trick!!! sable 59
