We didn't get back until it was already dark, so pictures to follow.
Do I need to send any origional documents? How do I go about getting the Bescheinigung?
I can't ready German that well and I can't figure out what the signatures are on the back of her pink papers. Anybody able to enlighten me? Do I need to sign it as well?
How long does it usually take to get AKC papers once all documents have been submitted?
Can I send in DNA with the documents or seperatel.. or at a later date?
Lastly, what do you think of her pedigree?? We connected almost instantly and she is awesome!

My first dog I got the Bescheinigung within two weeks, the second dog it was about 5 weeks. I just sent them both in today. I did call AKC regarding the process and they said it takes about 3-10 business days if everything is in order. Do not send originals, only copies (I sent color copies). If they lose the Bescheinigung then you have to go through everything all over again, so send copies. They said not to send in DNA until you get the AKC papers back, that way the DNA will stay with the dog, otherwise it won't.
I'll let someone else answer the rest of your questions :) Enjoy your new dog.

i request the bescheninigung through the usa club and am still waiting , they say it can take 8 weeks to get it.
then you need to get pictuures and send in to AKC to reg. which could be another 6-8 weeks and then once you get a AKC number , then you can send in for the DNA which took my last dog 7 weeks, so there you have it.

I remember someone mentioning that you can get the besheninigung by contacting someone through the SV, I just can't remember who it was. I think her name was Sonia something.
I spent the 9 hours yesterday driving home with my Geena in the cab of the truck sleeping peacefully. I haven't put her through her paces just yet besides playing a little ball before we left yesterday but from what I saw, she has the drive to do just about anything. I'm going to give her a few days to settle in before really asking of her but I honestly wouldn't mind training for SAR. I don't know if that is possible because she has had some bitework though.
I would like to find a nice stud eventually and have a nice working litter with her to raise for police work. I need to do some research first and there is definately no rush, but I don't know her pedigree like I do my own dogs ( who are mostly czech)
I guess what I'm saying is right now I'm going to enjoy her, train with her, get all the paperwork in order and see about the future.

And since I practical just live around the corner... I have an upcoming youngster (14mo). Hard dog, dominant and very powerful, that I think would compliment your girls pedigree. www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/615144.html
Maybe a future candidate :)
