He hasn't been well for years and I knew we'd never get him to the emergency vet in time, so I held him and told him how much we loved him and how he was going to find a land full of laps for him to sit on and then he was gone.
He was a great cat, a good friend to the shepherds, who are currently worried about why Mommy is crying uncontrollably. I know this is the price we pay for having them and their love in our lives but God it's hard to say good bye to a friend of 14 years.
May you rest in peace, my fuzzy friend, I will miss you so much.

Don't let anyone tell you he was "just a cat".

So sorry for your loss of Ford the cat. It is sad to lose our feline pals, too.
(Was your cat on thyroid medicine by any chance? I had one that threw a clot and it paralyzed him, so we had to let him go. My vet told me later that was a risk to the thyroid medicine he was on. He had lived a good life, and left us at 16.)

I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Ford the kitty. It's so hard to lose on of your best friends. I just went through this myself too.
"If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. RIP Ford."
