The age of a rescue dog being off by a year is far from unheard of. Many rescues/shelters round that age down as the older the dog, the less adoptable.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think her DOB is January so maybe they got her before she turned 8 and just haven't updated the bio.

Update.  My retired gent went to the rescue to see the dog and find out about the process and was told that it will take 7-21 days for them to check him out.  Dog was not there at the time. They also said that she's quarantined right now and was just spayed last week.  The lady at the rescue said that Inni was never allowed to be a house dog. She was strictly a brood bitch and has had 9 litters.  Also said that the tumor was tiny and a big nothing.  Jim didn't get the story in detail about the tumor but got the impression that they don't consider the tumor a threat to her health or longevity.  I'll get more details if he is approved for the adoption.  Thanks everyone for your concern.  Hopefully this one will have a happy ending.  Inni deserves a life of pampering and love.

9 litters? Wow.

Wonder if you can check with the AKC a dogs progeny. You could figure out who the last litter she had was bred by.

I am not against breeding a nice, titled, worthy female, but no dog deserves to be a goddamn puppy factory then dumped for having what is basically a cyst.

Jim is going to try to get the papers if he's accepted for the adoption.  Then we can do some research but in the meantime I'll check with AKC to see what info they might be willing to give up.  On the flip side, this dog might need some house training.  It's my understanding that she was kept in a kennel the whole time and just pumped out puppies so she probably has no house manners and who knows if she's even house broken.  Poor thing deserves better.

Is there any more news about Inni?

I have got my fingers crossed for her.

I would start her off as if she were a puppy and have her sleep in a wire crate next to my bed and take it slow and don't give her a chance to have an accident.

Dunno if this is the same Jeff Coulter:
www.google.com/url

And of course, we don't know for sure that Vom Haus Cander is the breeder of this bitch.
Yet.

FYI, they actively post here.  I suppose someone could just start a topic asking them if its their bitch.
Recent, interesting topic from vom Haus Cander:  www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/forum/33367.html

Note that Jeff has worked with the same rescue Inni is currently sitting in. [see above link]
Any bets as to whether the male was also his dog that he surrendered?

Should I direct his attention to this thread for response, or wait until the dog has been adopted?

by JudyK on 13 August 2010 - 01:08

The whole thing is getting so complicated.  I filled out the application which asked if he would spay/neuter the dog and he said no since the ad said she was already spayed so they rejected him and when he protested by saying that he answered the question the way he did because she was already spayed and  they said to submit another application.  Then they said she had cancer surgery last week and will be spayed tomorrow which is not what they said yesterday. That makes no sense to me since rescues never have much money and normally they would do both procedures at the same time.  Why would they put a down under anesthesia twice?  So, we'll go at it again.  Ugh!  They also said there were 15 applications for the dog.  No idea what the true story is since things seem to change every time he calls.  Stay tuned folks.  This will get resolved sooner or later.

It appears that Inni has been adopted.  There were a large number of applications that came in when her picture was posted on petfinder.  I hope that she has a long life and is loved by her new owners.
