Fanta96 I'm not positive but I think Aisha was born before the ban so it doesn't apply to your dog. I think the same goes for Teejay v Wilhendorf that went SG1 in 12-18 mo. males at the same show. Kevin Geagan

Hello Kevin Geagan - you are correct - mine is cleared for breeding and per her Koerung 'Recommended for improving the overall anatomoc structure'. She underwent the required HD and ED exams was cleared by the SV. She is 2 1/2 years old. Yes it effects any dog born after 09 AUG 2004. Everybody knew that when buying these puppies as Nero was restricted from the SV breeding program. Nero had about 250 litters (if I remember correctly) and not one of the tested offspring had any issues with the upper arm, as it is said about Nero. All he had was a joint flushing to remove debridement - possibly a bonechip or something like that - nothing was altered or corrected. There is no reason for something like that to stop a dog from breeding. But unfortunately no matter what we say ... or what is being done now ... we have lost a great dog of great value to our beloved breed.

just over 250 pups, not litters

by SGBH on 24 May 2006 - 19:05

D.H., are you sure? I thought I had read in the SV Zeitung that is was 248 "litters". I could have read it wrong, but that was my understanding.

by SGBH on 24 May 2006 - 19:05

Now that I think about it, maybe I did read it wrong, thats a lot of breeding in that short time.

by D.H. on 24 May 2006 - 22:05

He had only been breeding for a year and a half before his ban, at a possible 90 litters max per year... you do the math :o).

Seems like about one and one-half years ago this whole story was on this very board. ecs
