AN INTERESTING EMAIL FROM THE SV GERMANY : Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde (SV) e.V. - Fath Anne [mailto:annefath@schaeferhunde.de] 28 maart 2006 8:48 : Nero vom Nöbachtal Sehr geehrter nachdem wir in Erfahrung gebracht haben, dass der Rüde Nero vom Nöbachtal in Ihrem Land als Deckrüde eingesetzt werden soll, erlauben wir uns darauf hinzuweisen, dass über diesen Hund seit 09. August 2004 Nachkommeneintragungssperre seitens des SV verhängt wurde. Folglich können Nachkommen aus diesem Hund, auch wenn sie in Ihrem Lande Eintragung ins Zuchtbuch finden würden, keine Aufnahme in unserem Zuchtbuch finden. Dies bedeutet, dass, sollten aus diesen Hunden Nachkommen zur Eintragung ins Zuchtbuch des SV angemeldet werden, dies von uns mit Hinweis auf die einschlägigen Bestimmungen abgewiesen wird. De facto bedeutet dies, dass diese Hunde ebenfalls für das deutsche Zuchtbuch mit Nachkommeneintragungssperre (Zuchtverbot) belegt sind. Um nämlich in Deutschland Hunde ins Zuchtbuch eintragen zu können, ist gemäß Ziffer 4.1.1. der Zuchtordnung notwendig, dass die Elterntiere selbst Aufnahme im Zuchtbuch des SV gefunden haben. Auch das Ausstellen solcher Hunde ist nicht möglich, da SV-seitig kein Formwert, sondern eine Zuchtbewertung vergeben wird, und gemäß der Zuchtschauordnung Hunde, die mit Nachkommeneintragungssperre belegt sind, auf Zuchtschauen des SV nicht zugelassen sind. Dies trifft auf alle Hunde zu, die von Nero vom Nöbachtal nach Eintritt der Nachkommeneintragungssperre gezeugt wurden. Wir wären Ihnen dankbar, wenn Sie sich entschließen könnten, ebenfalls Nachkommeneintragungssperre zu verhängen, da dies zum Schutze der Hündinnenbesitzer sicherlich opportun wäre. Statement of the Breed Registry of the German Shepherd Dog Association (SV) After the Breed Registry was informed that the dog “Nero vom Nöbachtal, SZ-Nr. 2080775” had covered bitches abroad, the SV managing committee decided to give the following advice to the relevant associations abroad, and moreover to the bitch owners in Germany, warning them of the offspring of “Nero vom Nöbachtal” which were born after the 9th August 2004 (date on which the offspring registration ban legally came into effect). The associations abroad were told that since we have now discovered that the dog Nero vom Nöbachtal is to be used in their country as a stud dog, we would like to point out that an offspring registration ban has been imposed by the SV on this dog since 09th August 2004. Therefore offspring from this dog, even if they are registered in their country in the breed register, will not be included in our breed register. This means that should an application be made for offspring from this dog to be registered in the SV Breed Register, it will be rejected by us with reference to the relevant regulations. This means, de facto, that these dogs will also be banned from registering in the German Breed Register (breeding prohibited). In order to be able to register dogs in Germany in the Breed Register, it is necessary, in accordance with Paragraph 4.1.1 of the Breeding Regulations, that the parent animals are themselves included in the SV Breed Register. The exhibition of these dogs is also not possible, since the SV does not judge the confirmation itself, but instead gives a breed assessment, and in accordance with the conformation show rules, dogs which have an offspring registration ban imposed on them are not permitted to take part in conformation shows of the SV. This applies to all dogs that are fathered by Nero vom Nöbachtal after the offspring registration ban came into force. We would be grateful, if the foreign associations were also to decide to impose an offspring registration ban, since this would certainly be opportune in protecting bitch owners.” The Breed Registry of the SV

I have heard sooooo many rumors and stories regarding Nero....bad elbows...bleeding disorder...the list goes on. Does anyone know what REALLY happened or where I can find out for myself? That dog is absolutely beautiful in all aspects, IMO. WHATEVER happened is a shame.

I have a Nero daughter that is being titled and showned in Germany now. Visited with her this morning. Her hips came back A1-Normal(with ZW-71), and normal elbows. You can see here here on the database(Sala Von Batu). Stephen

Yes, what happened is a shame. What a great dog. Pups born before the ban are accepted by the SV providing they have a passing HD and ED a-stamp.

So what REALLY happened???

Obviously something happen to Nero that caused him and his off springs to be banned for life from breeding under SV. I'm sure SV aren't being bullies and just ban him and his off springs for no apparently reason. I cannot believe people contuine to breed this faulty dog without even thinking about the consequences that may happen down the road. Yes hes gorgeous... BUT LETS think about the health! Without Health the dog is useless! Hopefully Videx, DH or anybody else who can speak/Type/Translation good German can contact SV ( nnefath@schaeferhunde.de ) and ask for the real reason why they banned him and his progeny for life.. The truth will set you free.
