I am just going to one of the training clubs with Izzy we have a Class where a Qualified Show Judge checks the Dog over regarding teeth etc, If the teeth are as they should be and the Dog is at least 12 months old then the results will be official in the Dogs work score  books, What it really means is this,
Let us say Izzy's teeth are okay Number etc and what the Judge is looking for,  then if say she damages a tooth between now and being Korclassed the damaged tooth will not go against her when she is finally Korclassed because of having it done after she was 12 months old
Of course we do not want accidents but it is  a safe guard back up in case of a problem later
Do you Guys have the same thing in the USA and the U.K, anyhow i am off to see what the Judge thinks of her

Steve, as far as I know the dog's teeth will not cause a problem (except for certain high-level conformation classes) as long as they were correct per the examination earlier in life and this examination was done past the minimum qualifying age. Teeth can become broken and require extraction - just an unfortunate fact of life. It is best to have a qualified judge verify the presence and condition of correct teeth early in the dog's life.

But - I know that any dog who is a candidate for the VA class at the North American Sieger Show or the BSZS must have all of its teeth in correct condition - no exceptions to the rule are allowed even though it could be proven that a missing tooth was the result of an injury and it can be proven that the dog's teeth were deemed correct earlier in its life. Of course such a dog can be judged in the other classes.

Best Regards,
Bob-O

At our last conformation show earlier this month with two German SV judges we were offered this service for the first time,  the pedigree is stamped and signed by the judge. If the dog loses or damages a tooth later there is proof that the teeth were once complete.  This was offered for all dogs over 12 months, but was optional and cost $10.  I am from the UK originally but live in Ecuador.
