Here is a video of some of the long bites from this years AWDF championship that took place in Indianapolis, Indiana.

 Great job!!

Both helpers I watched on Saturday afternoon did a great job.  The escape setup/pattern was a bit funky, IMO, and caused some dogs to get knocked out perhaps unnecessarily whereas those that hit the sleeve pretty much uniformly were grabbing it almost at the elbow because of the angle they were presented.  Not sure that was so much the fault of the helper as it was the instructions he was given.  I didn't envy either of these guys as I watched them putting on their gear in that heat.

The back-half helper has a particularly difficult job as the long (pursuit) bite is the most likely to injure the dog if the decoy doesn't effectively transfer the dogs' energy around himself.  I've seen a dog injured on a long-bite at a trial and it wasn't pretty.  Kudos to both of these guys.

Pretty new to all this but I felt like the front half helper wasn't driving the dog very well. he was basically just going sideways to the dog. Did not test the dog very well. imo

There were a lot of great dogs in the competition and it was an honor to get the opportunity to work them.  I'm looking forward to doing more events.

I think the helper work was excellent... I am grateful that we have these guys to step up and accept the challenge and responsibility at working our dogs. To consistently go out there and do good, safe, and fair work is not such an easy thing to do... Great work guys.

Fantastic work by both helpers.  They were consistent, fair, safe, challenging for the dogs (Kyle is FAST!) under difficult circumstances (different breeds, some very tough dogs to catch/drive, extremely hot weather in full gear, fast pace with very little down time between dogs, etc.).   I sat near the helpers' tent all through the trial and saw what they went through to deal with the heat yet they never missed a beat.  They are outstanding young men whose professionalism and dedication are worthy of nothing but high praise and utmost respect.  Thank you for the absolutely great job guys!

As a USA Teaching Helper, I was honored to be asked to help select the helpers for the 2010 AWDF.

Our helpers did a great job on all 3 levels. Truly.

Since this thread is about the SchH3, I'll address it specifically.
The front and backhalf helpers performed some of the safest, correct, most fair and balanced work I've seen in many, many, big events. No dogs stepped on, crashed, fell on, slipped sleeves, jammed, no help and no hinder, nothing....very fair tests of the dogs on a level playing field. Excellent sleeve presentations and absorbtion of power. First dog worked same as the last.

Superfoot Kyle and Mean Joe B can work my dogs anytime, anywhere. Super nice guys with no ego and no room for showboating. The way it should be!

I hope to see them work again, and am so glad the USA has so many top notch trial helpers to choose from for our events.
If you're hosting an upcoming event, you should definitely consider these men. They did a great job.
