I have found this website with the Nachwuchsschau Dachwig show result

http://www.schaeferhunden.eu/winsis_x/winsisshowevent.php?id=OG2009-179

The dogs were competed in different groups. Some of the group has more dogs. while some of the group only have 1 dog on the result.

Can anyone let me know the reason why sometime only 1 or 2 dogs received grade in a group? does it means there were only 1 or 2 dogs compete in that group? or they only post the dogs with the rating?

is there any way i can find out how many dogs were competing in that group?

Hello there,

The best way to attain the most accurate show results for the shows that are held under the SV (The GSD Governing body in Germany) are by becoming a member of same and getting access to the results from their site for a fee.

All other information (whilst it may be accurate at times) may also be lacking in completeness as the data in the respective databases has not been fully informed and/or up-dated.

There used to be some private people who compiled this information and results on a monthly basis, and mail out to subscribers. The base was in Germany but subscribers were worldwide. I am not sure if this operation is still in existance.

The dogs are judged as they are observed regarding conformation, movement, and temperament. There can be one-hundred (100) dogs in the show; and if the judge thinks that only two (2) are VA quality; three (3) are V quality; and six (6) are SG quality; then that is what it is.

That is why the total number of dogs awarded VA-, V-, and SG- always varies. At the BSZS it is not uncommon to see more than ten (10) dogs make VA status and more than one-hundred dogs make V status. And one frequently sees fewer than ten (10) VA dogs.

The judge is working per his training and knowledge, and S.V. judges must be consistent with their critiques on a dog - to - dog basis. I hope that explains it a bit.

Best Regards,

The classes you refered to are speciality classes for veteran (older) dogs and Herding (HGH) dogs. And it was a local show (OG). Therefore its very common to see only very few dogs or even just one entered. With any luck you can pull up the placement flyers/papers (Rundschreiben)  from the SV by googling a specific dog. I have done so before while wanting to confirm a show rating.
