GSDONLINE, you have a very interesting request. But when one breeds GDS's one must concider what the dogs intended use will be in the work arena. I believe that an extremely strong/civil dog has practical applications in prison security and military field ops. I really question such a dog for police patrol situations, primarily from a handler control situation. Everything is relative and based on what we have observed. Meaning that if your idea of wanting an extremely strong civil dog is based on your observance of poor performing sport dogs with low aggression. I watched the video of Canto work and he appears to be a strong confident dog that is clear in the head in the video clips. I personally did not see anything in the "clips" that would suggest extreme civility. What I observed was a nice dog bringing the fight to the helper. Hi ! I owned and trained Canto vom Haus Endrikat in germany and can tell you that we got a hole bunch of super policedog¿s out of him. Call Gene England and ask him about Tigger von Karthago and ask him if that dog is civil. Canto got his civil sides ,but he is clear in the head with it. I don not know why anyone would want a dog to be so civil. I do know that we sell and train police k9's and Law Enforcement is changing to k9's that are for single purpose and not dual purpose. We have a Mali that is civil for sale and the departments do not want a civil dog. Law Enforcements are getting afraid of law suits they may get because of dog bites. We hear all the time that k9's units want a dog that will find drugs not bite. I disagree, but they do not want a dog that will bite.
