crhuerta, that is not the correct way to deal with potential buyers. If the potential buyers askes such question... you simply tell them the truth and EDUCATE them. If you do not know how to do that in a professional manner, DONT BREED! Now crhuerta... Dont think im personally attacking you. I'm just saying this to let breeders know their responsiblity for breeding. If a breeder cant or do not have time to educate then they should not be breeding in the first place. Breeding isnt just only letting dogs go at it with each other... it's about education and knowledge. It is sicking that breeders take an advantage of situtions like this. Taking buyers money without education. You can really see whos doing this for the money and not for improving the breed. I hope our breed can improve... not the breeders WALLET/banking accounts.

I agree with crhuerta. I have seen it time and time again people over pay for crap. In America we have the idea the more expensive it is the better it is. We had a police officer come to our Police K-9 training group with a dog that he had paid 4k for as a puppy. He wanted to train it as a K-9. The dog had no drive at all, nothing, If I had a life time I couldn't make it into a police dog. I had a friend that was having trouble selling the last 2 puppies out of a litter, I told him raise the price to $1500. They sold in 3 days. Same goes for training, you get the six week wonder trainers, six week dog school and now there a trainer. People go to them because they charge a higher price verses the real expierienced trainer who doesn't charge as much. You cannot educate a person in a ten minute phone conversation that more expensive is not always better when they have been taught all there lives that the best is always expensive. As far as the people who sell puppies for 8k, I wish I knew how they did it. Then I could stay at home and sell puppies instead of looking for bombs in third world countries.

The price is not the main factor. I have seen dogs at 5 months that is worth nothing and dogs i would easily pay 8000$ for. You need to see the dog if it is a dog and not the bloodlines you are after. A photo is not enough to get a dog. You need to see it feel it an then you have to take a chance. Good Luck

I took this ad from a website. I would never pay this but someone did. Would anyone here pay it? V MIRKO VON KASSANDRA (IMPORT) DOB: 11/02/2002 Hips: "a normal" ZW:82 Title: SchH3/Kkl1/V (Excellent) Show: SG-72 Sieger Show, Germany Sire: Yasko vom Farbenspiel Price: $14,500 SOLD I love my country but we Americans can be pretty stupid when it comes to money. We all want to have the most expensive thing out there because that someone makes us better than the rest. I was taking an obedience course but my breeder allowed me to stop (she requires it in her contract) because my other dog is an angel (home trained) and the trainer actually told me to let my pup go to another dog that had every tooth in its mouth showing. No way in HELL I was going to let River near that thing. She already knew everything that class had to offer and then some. BTW Check out this site. If you think people are paying alot for purebreds then you'll love this. She even advertised that she could get the pup there in time for Christmas. What a winner. The second page they breed over 30 breeds! But they aren't in it for the money. Honest! http://www.pricelesspups.com/ http://www.prestigiouspuppies.com/Past%20Puppies%20Page.htm

Stupid is as stupid does.

I've seen that site. For $50000 you can have your pick of litter trained and delivered in two years. They've lost the ****ing minds!

You would be suprised at how "common" that $50,000. price is...just ask George Foreman(yeh, the ex-boxer) how much he has shelled out for his dogs over the years. Poor George is a better judge of horses which he also collects. Sweetwalter

<<>> Yep the Hollywood people. There is a trainer out here that gets SchH1 dogs for $1200.00 to $2500.00 bucks and sells those same dogs as personal protection dogs for $15,000.00 - $35,000.00 and the rich and famous pay it. I have worked with many high end clients that paid as high as $70,000.00 for their "Personal Protection dog". the same dog that wouldn't do anything unless you had a sleeve and a SchH field. But the rich from Beverly Hills to Miami continue to buy them. Uwe
