My dog has sore pads on all four feet.  The rear ones are more prominent than the front.  We do a lot of hiking, year round.  We do not road walk, so she really has relatively no exposure to salt.  Any suggestions on something to heal and prevent further sores?  Any ideas on why she has them in the first place.  Does anyone know of a vitamin or mineral deficiency that would cause it?  We did go to the vet and she put her on antibiotics but no real answers (as usual).  I looked online at products used for sled dogs, but it is confusing... any suggestions or thoughts are greatly appreciated.

When my dogs have sore pads I rub Anhydrous Wool Fat on them and keep them off rocky ground for a few days.

I used methalayted spirits on my dogs pads , it is great for toughening them up.  He had sore pads from roadwalking and it definitely did the trick.

This stuff works good. I used to get  some stuff called tuff or tough pad from tractor supply also. It was purple liquid maybe a 4oz bottle. Good Luck.
