Another epidosde with Pit Bull

It was on the new tonight that a 65-year old and her husband was sitting their 10-year old Pit. This dog new this couple very well and lived next door. The newphew went away and had his aunt watch him. Well, they went outside to feed their other dogs and this pit was tied to a pole with a 15-foot chain. Well, when they went outside to fee the other dogs, he broke off of his chain and started attacking the uncle. The wife came out side and was hitting the dog with a plastic pole and the dog turned and started attacking her and mulled her to death. The husband is in the hospital and will need to have surgery. Needless to say, they put this dog to sleep to test it for rabies. Just another issue with pit bull. I wonder why all of a sudden this dog turned on the people he has known for year. I know people say any dog can turn, however you never hear of a GSD doing this. I just don't understand why pit bulls seems to be the only breed that you hear about that is always killing someone. Either it's a child mostly... now it's an adult. It's a shame all the way around on how this turned out.

Who is to say, had there not been someone present who could stop the attacks above, that deaths would not have occured?
Nothing quite causes a media frenzy, as a Pit Bull type dog who attacks and kills someone.

The bottom line is, no matter what the breed, when someone has an aggressive dog, measures have to be taken to assure the dog can never get free of their containment to harm someone.
Aggressive dogs act much different in the absence of their main owner, than they do in the owner's presence. I just refuse to believe that the dog in the attack, had never shown human aggression before. The dog went into fight drive as it watched the other dogs being fed, and the nightmare ensued.
This dog should have been chained to a very secure set up, inside of a Kennel Run. The owner should have known better to leave it's care in the hands of the aunt and uncle.

I would also like to see a pic of the dog who did the killing.

We have two "another episodes" in my area, one with a GSD and one with a Chi. Better ban them, don't you think? If one or ten are bad, they all are.

They did not show a picture of the dog. They just said that the dog had never done this before. There were only watching him for 2 days. I think they were going to feed this dog, just did they other's first. Something in this dog just snapped and he busted off the his chain. I personally have never heard of a GSD doing this to anyone.. Other than maybe a burglar or something of that nature. I do not exacly, this was the first nite that it was on. I live in SC and this is where it happened They did not even show the newphew. Just a picture of the poor lady who was killed. I had just posted a little while ago about another pit bull who chewed the foot off of a 4 month old baby. The parents had taken sleeping pills and did not hear the baby crying. It is just strange. Someone said it is the way the pit bull head his shaped and something pressess on their brain and causes them to do this horriable killings. I don't know. But, as I said before... I will stick with the GSD.

If you search the Internet you can find any kind of story you desire.
Pit Bull is a Buzz word,
Animal attacks of any kind are always a Buzz.
It's a big world out there.

If I were to have actualy reported any of the dog bites that I got...it would consist of Golden Retrievers the most. The worst one was a German Shepherd.It was my friends. We were working on ring training as in conformation showing and when we got to the spot that I was going to stack him, as soon as I moved the front paw that was closest to me with out warning...no growl nothing,he turned and bit my face.I moved back quick enough that his top K9 didn't punchture my eye ball.His other k9 punctured the part of my cheek before my nose starts.the one near my eye hit the orbital bone. I have to say that is the one time I strung a dog up and wanted it to die. For whatever reason it still wanted to go after me as she was dragging it away. There was obviously something wrong with that dogs head!!! From what I hear he started going after people....later on he ended up dying. So yea German Shephers do turn. A long time ago it was the Dobe that "turned" on people. No thanks to the media and the low life people that train Pits and bull breeds to be mean...they will continue to have a bad rap.Maybe there is too much inbreeding that is creating them to turn.

Pits are powerful and attack with tremendous ferocity , velocity and tenacity and do far more damage than other breeds the injuries are often life changing ,You will be hard pressed to find ''breeders'' claiming to breed for correctness of mind even structure for that matter, dogs with several generations of working titled ancestors do not exsist But I can guarentee if I had psychotic stalker I would want a trained Pit at my side they take the term ''manstopper'' to a whole new level .There is a guy who has a channel on youtube who tracks attacks around the country www.youtube.com/user/zupf ...its pretty rampant they usually show the dogs www.youtube.com/user/zupf

Dodie, please tell me you're joking. No adult (you are an adult aren't you?) could possibly be this ignorant. LMAO. And I'm just thrilled that you're such a staunch supporter of GSDs. The breed is in great hands. (That was sarcasm.) You're posting what is essentially nothing but hearsay and it never dawns on you that perhaps you don't have the whole story, and you're exactly the type bandwagon passsenger that the media loves to prey on and use to perpetuate these ridiculous stories, bans, public image, etc. I have some Kool Aid for you later....but you probably have no idea what I'm alluding to there either.................................

OF COURSE they didn't show a picture of the dog. Maybe they're getting smarter than to post pics of Lab mixes etc. and call them Pit Bulls in their captions, lol.

I couldn't dump my GSDs off at someone else's house and expect them to behave like they do for me. Perhaps it's something in the way their head is shaped?

I had a hard time with the complete lack of punctuation. It makes it rather difficult to tell what you're even talking about. They aren't supposed to be "manstoppers." Should they protect if need be? Sure. But "manstopper" is not really what they're intended for. Then you post a picture of a dog running. I'm totally lost. What is your point? And what does your last sentence fragment mean?

Well let's see everybody else can post a story about an animal on this board and it be o.k. I do it and it's stupid. Why can't you just let somebody just meerly state a fact that happened in their State and felt like sharing. As far as the head thing, that is what I heard.. Not saying I believed it, what I heard. So excuse me for just throwing that out there. As far as your comment on GSD. I know about them and care for mine very well. She is the most lovable dog. So, you can make your comments about what I think about the pit null, But don't assume anything about my lack of knowledge or care for the GSB. It just figures that someone like you would have to post something like that.. I know you just love to start shit and have this continue in a direction I did not intend to have it go. As far as the picture, if you were to read that 1st reply, the guy was stating that he would love to see a picture of the dog.. I was replying to him.

I hope that someday you can tame your tounge and think before your spu hurtful words to people who really did not mean any harm. Especially to anyone who likes the Pit Bull. As far as dumping them off to someone else. This was the guys aunt and uncle who lived next door. The next this dog and the dog knew them very well. It was not a stranger. Maybe you should pay a little closer to what you are readin...Ya Think. The news is full of information, that is why they call it the news. They report good and bad things. Yes, thank you I would love some milk and cookes. Can I have a straw with my milk to please..

Lief, technically, the most PSI in a dog bite is in Rotts; second, GSD, third, pit bulls--depending on which of the "pit bull" breeds you are talking about.

I had a friend, an older guy, reserve deputy. He bought a young male GSD from a "reputable" breeder here locally. One day he went into his kitchen to find the dog (18 months old or so) chewing on the head of his wife, who then required TWENTY FOUR HOURS of reconstructive surgery. The dog was afraid of its own shadow. The man took the dog back of course, but got no refund, and the breeder sold it to someone else. Turns out my friend was already the dog's THIRD owner; it kept getting returned for being spooky and vicious.

Point being, asswipes can turn ANY breed bad.
