eight mon old female ,how to solf the weak pastern .

Some think that pasterns can be strengthened if the dogs are made to walk on gravel or sand. If this is a kennel dog, you would not want to keep her on cement. If it's a housedog, then you have another problem and would have to take the dog on very long frequent walks (not runs) on the right surface; a beach would be ideal if you are near one. Some swear by supplements, not sure what they use, maybe somone else could tell you. Frankly, it's been my experience that the above doesn't help all that much, especially if the pasterns are long as well as soft, but it's worth a try. If either the sire or dam had faulty pasterns, odds are your bitch will not improve no matter what you do.

try reducing protein in diet, increasing exercise.

Listen to Blitzen -- How the heck does one tie soft pasterns to protein ?? They either have correct length and angle of pasterns and proper ligimentation or they don't -- Feeding one food or not feeding another is not going to alter that condition. I feed 6 dogs the same food. My male does not have the best pasterns (or feet) I have females related to him on his mother's side - way back - and they have their fathers' (better) feet and pasterns). My friend's American dogs were so bad as puppies another breedeer would have put them to sleep !! They could not walk well at all - and this is at over 16 weeks. She actually put them on a raw diet and in a dirt run and they did better - Their mother had the same thing -- Chances are good your puppy had parents with similar problems , and they weren't cause by FOOD !!! Can you say "genetics" ??
