Is the wound healed closed?  I would be careful that whatever you use will not affect the wound.  With that said, I once had to tape a dog's ear and used eyelash glue and it came off with baby oil.  Don't know if that would work on surgical glue or not.

It is usually safe to take stitches and staples out about 7 to 10 days after an injury, so I'm pretty sure you are safe to remove the glue. Baby oil might work, give it a try. I often use it or vegetable oil for taking those sticky spots off of merchandise that has had price stickers on them. If that doesn't work, I suggest you ask the doctor what to use, as I wouldn't feel comfortable using anything stronger on a healing wound. The standard remedies like Goof-off, and nail polish remover are a bit harsh on raw tissue!

Although I'm an RN, I've never had a patient with surgical glue, so can't be much help...

Did you have a few too many on New Years, and FDGB* as a result?

(* An unnofficial medical charting abbreviation, which translates as 'Fall down, go boom')

Glad to hear it' s healing up okay!

Acetone works (nail polish remover). Just be certain the wound is healed. Dermabond generally peels off spontaneously after 10 to 12 days.

I have used goo gone as well as lighter fluid. Lighter fluid melts it instantly, But no flames lol and make sure wound is healed

I don't remember the name of it, but if you go to your pharmacy and ask the pharmacist they have a glue (adhesive) remover for stomas that will take it all off with no side effects or inflammation.

The ostomy product is called Allkare wipes, but they are usualy only available by the box:

Most of these adhesive removal products contain acetone, which is the main ingredient of nail polish remover. If the cut is sufficiently healed, I wouldn't be afraid to give that a try.
