My GSD has got an awful way of getting me up she just farts. this is the wost alarm clock i have ever owned... she gets let out every 2 hours no food after 5:00p.m and i let her out at 9:30 every night... and at 4:30a.m give or take a few minutes every day bam there's the aroma that nearly makes you gag. my husband says look for poop no poop just that wonderful aroma.. i am beginning to think she enjoys doing this to me.... no i have not changed her diet and it didn't used to be this bad just a light smell now its enough to make you sick.... and look everywhere to make sure she hasn't had an accident..... it used to be the rooster next door that woke me up now its my own dog... what is the wost alarm clock you have ever had.....

Sounds like either the food is not appropiate for her or she is passing the gas cause she has to go poop soon.By the way, what is the name of the food you  are you feeding this dog?Just wondering if its just one of those foods that are notorious for doing that.Good luck with your dog and this problem.

i feed them marrow bones daily and ground beef in their hunter special kibble.. it has been the same routine for a year now and the smell gets worse over time....

Lol my alarm clock is my pack of Huskies, they howl every single morning at the EXACT SAME TIME.  They're like roosters in dog/wolf form.

Whew!  Glad all my girl does is put her nose in my ear and nuzzles me awake.  It's sweet really.  I'll take that any day over farts!  LOL

One of my Dobes' farts could have been classified as a weapon of mass suffocation!  My boyfriend at the time made the mistake of letting Mingus finish off a plate of scrambled eggs. Jays-us!!! We nearly had to move.

Edited to add:

When you remember a fart nearly twenty years later, THAT was a FART!

It's generally a bad idea (digestion-wise) to feed both raw and kibble together. Forget that kibble! Or just give raw as small treats. The two foods digest at different rates and have a way of shoving each other thru undigested. The smell is probably the result of the kibble being in there longer than it ought to...ew.

My Chihuahua puppy runs up and bites me in to nose with her little needle-sharp teeth when she wakes up. If I try to hide under the covers, she goes over to the other side of the bed and bites T's face, who then walks on me to get off the bed and away from her.

On a serious note...VM is right. Raw and kibble digest at different rates. I would feed one in the morning (the kibble, probably) then feed their RMBs in the evening. Try that and I'll bet you see a reduction in gas.

You can also give charco-caps (activated charcoal) to reduce gas.
