I feed Nutro Natrual Choice & loved it but it got expensive.
Tried Diamond...I don't know how any breeder uses this my dogs coat looked awful & got diahrea
So now I'm on Exclusive & it's seems good. My female is extreme active so she's very hard to keep weight on sometimes get diahrea so I don't know that is because of the food. ( but she has no heath problems!)
So for an active dog what is best to feed more protein, fat, etc..
& my male has corn alergies so I typically feed lamb/rice
Thanks all

I have found that the way in which dog food is handled before it gets to the dog bowl is very importnat. If the food has not been kept in a cool dry place, it tends to spoil, and cause all kinds of negative symptoms....
in my limited experience, I've noticed the higher the protein the more active the dog. The higher the carbs, the fatter the dog...don't know what to advise......I guess, I'd prefer a very active dog to a fat one.
Good luck, and hope you can find a good food that will not break your budget.

They get raw occassionally also. That is the favorite but all the dogs really like the Orijen.
I have tried everything from cheapo to expensive. Hopefully Orijen stays attainable for me. I do have to make a 100 mile trip to get it.
Has anyone used Honest Kitchen?

I've been feeding raw for almost 10 years now...and my 10 year old GSD has been healthy all of his life.
I also have a 2 year old one, very VERY active and healthy
I've noticed that if I feed to much food in one meal, he gets diarrhea. So I give half of his meal in the morning and the other half in the evening.
Depending on where you live, raw food can be purchased frozen (all prepared) Have a look at Common Sense food
http://www.commonsensedogfood.com/ and at the dogs fed this food.
Their coat is the shiniest I've ever seen.
