Being new to Schutzhund, I bought a ton of gear when I got my dog.  Unfortyunately, I really need a bite wedge/developer (the kind with a bar) and a sleeve and am short on cash due to the stuff I bought initally.  Anyone have used stuff or know of a reasonably priced place to find a decent sleeve and good bite wedge?  A friend sent me a link to this awesome place....was something about "dog gear" I think...but I lost the link.  Again, relatively new here and any help appreciated on good plaves to get gear much appreciated.
Thanks,
Nichole

Clifford,
Thanks for the advice...you're a little too late though...lol.  I spent a fortune on stuff I thought I'd need that's not so vital.  The trainer I am working with exposed me to the bite wedge/bite developer with a bar and I need one for home training with my dog.  I've also been advised I'll be needing a sleeve soon as I am trying to do as much of the training as possible myself.  So I figured it would be a good time to start looking.  So far, I've found it very frustrating to go to training, use awesome tools, and have to come home and try to find where to get the stuff.  I've been lucky and had friends' help on some things but the sleeve and especially the bite wedge are proving to be harder to find (at a more reasonable price)
Thanks,
Nichole

If you are a beginner, I'd forget the sleeve for now.  You don't know how to use it and anyone experienced enough to be doing sleeve work with a novice dog will have his own kit.  If you don't have a sleeve, you won't be tempted to allow someone who doesn't know what they are doing to put it on and possibly mess your dog up.

try ebay. Just keep checking, something will show up.

Also, here are a couple of places I have bought from.

Unless you absolutely know what you are doing and have experience in bitetraining dogs , you shouldn't be doing your own dog....
Proper bitework training requires a person skilled in that area.. novices should be working on their obedience and tracking and doing bitework when they meet with their club or trainer
If your trainer is recommending this, you need a new one
