Before all of you people say NO   you better go research all the competiton dogs on all the pedigrees on the database and look at how many    hundreds of top rated dogs have Fair /equivalant by sv  in their breedings....

My answer is  look at the pedigree and what the other hips of all sides are and make the decision....there are fair hips in every great dogs and every top dogs pedigrees...do your own research and spend days looking back 4 generations on all dogs and see what you see.

We discussed this before.Any one who thinks just becuse they know too negative examples so the rest all be bad as well .
you are basing your assessment on two examples any one who does that is in my book is an idiot and a freak this i know for sure.T o have an intelligent discussion with some one like that is pretty much waste of time.also it showes me that i am dealing with someone, who does not really know what they are talking about.have a nice one.show me another police dog that has accompolished what the great Bronson has.i know that you do not know what a real dog is all about.you may have heard of one but you do not know what makes a dog real or what one looks like.go and look at Bronson in acompitition tape and you will know what a real dog is. have a nice one again.

Sure, Maybe brawnson was a real dog....never disputed that!  Just a bad producer of hips.  I have seen 1 nice working male out of him.  Can you show me another one?

Again, the issue here that is being discussed is hips!

I have had some "real" dogs.....I have had some VERY nice working dogs....never said brawnson was himself a bad dog so I don't think you are able to look objectively at the situation....all you want to do is call names which shows lack of intelligence anyway!  And, anyone who sees this post and how you behave can see who/what you are!

Held, are you an angry drunk?

Buckeyefan,

My discussion here is about HIPS!  Brawnson was not such a great hip producer and I used him as an example.  I never disputed that he was a bad dog just a poor hip producer.  I think you and Mr. Held are missing the ship on this thread!

Stucka is a nice working dog.  I have seen videos of him.  I know and have put my hands on 2 dogs from brawnson.  Had a brawnson daughter named Quark in my kennel.  She was very weak nerved and BARELY passed a BH.  Could not do protection at all, would have tucked tail and run.  She was  OFA Good.  I have a friend that has a brawnson son and I will not name any names as I dont want to hurt feelings but the dog is very much a nerve bag.  I have seen this dog do bitework and he has real conflict as to wheather he really wants to bite or if he wants to run.  He will bite out of fear.  He also has bad hips.  He IS listed in the database as well.

The sire is only half of the equation. Who's to say the bitch didn't have poor hips in her pedigree?

you said you only new of 1 nice working dog out of him.

my dogs father tj vom enckhausen is still patroling at 8 years old.
so plus stucka there aree three good ones.
i am sure there are plenty more.

Buckeye,

It is nice to have a discussion with someone who isn't a name caller.  Thank you for telling me of some good working examples out of brawnson.  It is unfortunate that the 2 that I have had direct contact with were poor specimines of what brawnson produces.  I wonder what the statistics are for the number of progeny he has out there that just didn't cut it vs. the number of good working dogs that did!  I sure wish he was a better hip producer though.

Mr. Held,

I think still name calling is low class.  Maybe I changed my tune for a couple reasons,

1.) because I don't really care to deal with people like you who show lack of intelligence through name calling
2.) I CAN be educated.
3.) It was easier to humor you inorder to stay on the subject of HIPS and their ratings.
4.) I CAN humble myself and acknowledge I was wrong!

None of those reasons seem to indicate I would be considered an Idiot!  You on the other hand continue to call name and every time you come to your keyboard and write you PROVE yourself to be what you are!

I am sorry you can't handle the truth about brawnson's hip status, it is a shame a dog so highly thought of didn't produce better hips.

Mr. Held,

You are just a fool!  Calling someone an idiot IS name calling!

Sorry you can't handle the truth about brawnson's hip production!
