I have a short story, I thought that I would share with you.
A person bought a "puppy" from Germany 6 years ago, through a 3rd party.
The person received the dark sable puppy in very good health & happy.   HOWEVER;...this puppy had only one testicle.
The buyer contacted the 3rd party involved (because he believed that was the owner of the puppy)...he was not.
This puppy was sent straight from the breeder in Germany.....
Both parties "Buyer & Breeder" thought the 3rd party was the person they were doing business with.
Breeder was told, puppy was for a "pet home"...no breeding, no titles...just a loving home.
Buyer was told, puppy was of super quality, great working bloodlines & could go far!
After buyer finally contacted breeder in Germany.......breeder said they would gladly replace puppy.
Buyer was in love with puppy...didn't want another to replace him,...told breeder that he would let them know when he was ready for another puppy........no problem says the breeder.
AFTER 6 YEARS.......buyer now wants a puppy.......................????!!
Guess what?........breeder from GERMANY......takes a flight to USA....and hand delivers a beautiful, healthy, great temperment puppy!..(yes-2 testicles)......no cost to buyer, except for flight of puppy.
6 years have passed!.......guarantee was guarantee!
I thought I'd share that little story with you.........
...she breeds very nice (working line) East & West bloodlines.

They are here staying with us until tomorrow night........
I really didn't "know" them until this visit....
A close friend bought a beautiful solid black female from them 2 1/2 years ago.....which we now co-own.
This breeder sent me an email to say she was coming to the US, and since they didn't really know anyone here.....would we mind if she stayed by us...?....
We agreed,....sure glad that we did!
Super nice people, nice dogs.
We didn't know the story behind their visit, until they got here, and we met the "buyer" from 6 years ago.
The kennel name is: von der Hettlingshohe.

Truly wonderful!

I can only support the initial post, a lovely story about a breeder who really understands what owning a lovely dog of this breed really means. Top German breeders understand the true beauty of our beloved breed and ofcourse those breeding lesser known blood lines, lets face it, it is their national herritage. The Breed is well governed and to be able to breed in Germany you need to be up to the bar to make any real success. A one off litter is ofcourse a different story. Our two gorgeous boys and the dealings we have had with both top level German, Dutch and French breeders has been wonderful.

Only by having the pleasure of a family member or two or three or plus from the German Shepherd breed can one know what a priveledge it is and I suppose this is why people wish to breed this beautiful animal. In Germany reputation is treasured by most and to hear this level of decency is astounding, it goes way beyond producing for the living but instead for the breed . In the birthplace of the breed this relationship to the importance of an individual is amplified, lovely!.

Robin,  Thank you for posting a positive breder experience!  So often we take the time to complain or spread the negatives but  don't make the same time to report the good.   Thank you for doing so.

And Kudos to an obviously responsible and respectable breeder that honors the breed and their word.
