The contract on my pups produced is the same if sold on breeding contract, All guarantees null and void if dog or bitch is bred before 24 months and OFA Certification.

Minimum breeding age for females under SV system is 20mos, for males 24mos. All after title/"a" stamp. We time any breedings to our show scedual. Our females are bred between 20-26mos, we aim for no later than 26mos. The canine uterus deteriorates the same amount whether the female is bred or not. In my oppinion, there is little good in waiting past 3yrs. At 3yrs a bitch SHOULD be mature enough to raise a litter. Just more time for an infection/fertility problems to occur.

sheplovr, how on earth can a bitch get rape? Unless if were talking about another bitch, which I won't comment about as I feel is not appropriate to mention here. Its quite obvious that this bitch was on her first heat cycle... as the male was very desperate of wanting to mount her, which she allowed the male to enter her. I'm not a breeder, yet but I do know a thing about breeding. A female dog who is NOT in heat will NOT allow the male to enter her as she would growl ( or walk off) to get him off.. I'm not saying this because im talking the talk... I've actually seen it happen. Also at the age of 2 years old is more approperiate... At least her/his hips are fully grown and you know for sure what you have, including the elbows. You also know the temperament. It's just a good idea to wait :)
