Hi, I'm planning on entering my working line male in the Garden State SchH Club's conformation show in November. He'll possibly be going for his koer as well. Does anyone know if SV Judge Ernst Seifert "likes" working line dogs? Thank you. Jackie

Ernst definitely appreciates the working dog, I would not hesitate to show under him.. as a matter of fact my female got a Koerklasse 1 under him.... his comment on her bitework was "SUPA!" He doesn't speak English well but as long as there is an interpreter there it is all good. Good luck

I can assure you that the Garden State club wouldn't have a judge that *wasn't* working-lines 'friendly' at their show...the club's focus is working lines, and it's almost a given that the club members will be entering their dogs for show ratings and breed surveys, so they wouldn't dream of having a judge who had no respect for the working lines. Good luck to you and your dog! :)

Ha, ha... that was my thinking as well, Hexe! :D

yes Herr Seifert will give your working-line dog a fair look, he won't give him anything he doesn't deserve, but he also won't put him at the back of the line and ignore him like many Koermeisters do (to the working-line dogs). Molly

Thanks Molly, that's what I'm looking for... just a fair evaluation.

Both Siefert and Scheld are great. Both look at the working ability of the dog as well as the structure. Both are open to working lines, but they will V a dog based on structure just as they would a show line.
