Slamdunc,
I am dissapointed.  I respect your posts and your profession very much.  However, giving the government more control, more and more and more of this type of thing is not the answer.  These bills are just the tip of the iceberg.  It is a way to gain entrance into the lives of honest law abiding citizens.  They all sound great, but trust me on this one, it is a way of controlling citizens, just waiting in the shadows.  It is a means in which the far left groups will use to leave us defenseless.
Many will not be happy until we as a nation are defenseless as well as John Doe public.

More control of honest folks is not the answer.  Prosecuting, holding accountable those that are in possesion of firearms that are fellons, stop all the modly coddling of fellons, start enforcing the laws on the books, would be a good place to start.  Get rid of the ignoramous judges, admit we have failed at rehabilitation and build more prisons would be a good place to start.  I worked with felons for 25 years, and carrying a concealed weapon is a joke to them.  No big deal.  A felon with a gun, so what.  It will get plea bargained down to nothing, supended sentence, anger management etc. etc.  The bleeding hearts have won the battle.  Any felon can go out and get a gun in one day.  A good portion come from home burgs.  Do they get hit hard? Yea, with a pillow. I am sick and tired of the media making it out like they are going to be put away for a long time, when in fact they will do a very minimal amount of time when the bs settles.

Although this law sounds good, sounds very reasonable, I detest the fact that I have to be finger printed like a banger, only the banger does not have to be finger printed to get a gun.  So maybe us law abiding tax paying citizens should just buy their gats on the street and forget the finger prints, big brother knowing who and where we are.

Sir, I am sick and tired of the crooks getting slapped on the hand and going on and continuing to have guns, but law abiding citizens are having more and more hoops to jump through.  If you think it is going to stop here, you are either very young or very naive.  I mean no disrespect, but I think you need to spend a little time talking to those victumised by crime.  I do not want someone that is whacked out walking around with a gun, for sure, but I am afraid that those in power will be the ones that are making the decision of who gets and who doesn't, and most of those folks are whacked.

About National Parks .. The proposal passed 279-147. The House of Representatives this past Wednesday passed a law allowing concealed, loaded firearms to be carried in all national parks. This bill was a hidden attachment for a Credit Card Bill.  HaHa  Guess they don't read the Bills after all.

Hey, anyone know about Montana ? Here's a linky >>>   http://data.opi.mt.gov/bills/2009/BillPdf/HB0246.pdf

They have challenged the Federal Government. The fed now must take them on with risks of Montana saying the federal agents have no right to violate their state gun laws and arrest the federal agents that try to enforce the federal firearms acts.

we have plenty of laws already on the books - they need to be enforce to their fullest extent BEFORE we make more of them.

The law allowing Carry guns in parks essentionaly puts the law back in the hands of the states where it should be any how. The states can still individualy forbid it. Most federal laws only crush more state and individual rights and our supremes should hold dear those states rights much more then they do.

olskoolgsds : Very well said!

BabyEagle4U : I am well aware, I am from Montana and I think there will be more than several other state cloning HB246!
The second Ammendment says "the right to bear arms" nothing about registering your guns and prints with the Feds. Do they "really" think the dishonest a$$holes are going to come forth to register? The 10th ammendment backs States rights.

I dont understand why our gov seems to think more laws will make it easier to enforse them.Use what we have .
We are the USA land of the free......unless we support more laws
