No it does not mean Fire cracker, But the word Cracker is a compliment, meaning very nice, a word used more by the males than by the Girls in the UK.
Us males do not use the words little darling or isn't she a sweet little Pup. Being u males we say a right little Cracker, and i have commented on the Girls humans if i think she is a very nice pretty  Girl, i say she too is a little Cracker,
Mind you a still say the same now even at my age the spark is still there just as strong as ever, it just takes a wee bit longer to light up
