Schäferhundverein RSV2000 e.V. is member of VDH (FCI) - Page 1

On March 25, 2009 RSV2000 became a provisional member of VDH (FCI). Provisional member status is outlined in the VDH bylaws and lasts for a period of three years.

This is a very big accomplishment following a great deal of dedicated commitment by the founders and members of RSV2000. Congratulations to all!

 It will be very interesting to see if the RSV2000 maintains their membership.

I remember twenty some years ago when United Sch Clubs of America was getting started and an article in the German Shepherd Review(American Breed Magasine), questioned whether this Sch would take hold in America.......well thirty years later and USA is not only flourished, but the GSDCA has dwindled and ultimately had to accept a group (WDA) just like United Sch Clubs of america. So it won't surprise me if this doesn't take off also. Plus I think the working practitioners will see this group as an avenue to procure working dogs again.....so its good for everybody!

And I would not exactly characterize Schutzhund, or the organizations here in the US as exactly "flourishing". Of the hundreds of thousands of German Shepherds in this country, I would bet that fewer than 20,000 people participate in the sport. As for the GSDCA and WDA, politics will, in the end, be the deciding factor as to whether WDA can remain viable within that organization. The AKC program for working dogs is also not exactly flourishing as far as I know.

Correction,the other 3 competitors split half of the prize money. Very generous and sporty thing of him to do so.

I'd support this organization, just like I support all the others, no problems there. Hopefully, they'll spread into the USA too, then I'll support them even more.

Hodie, "Flourishing" is relative.......look at the amount of Sch clubs thirty years ago, look at the amount twenty years ago, look at the amount ten years ago and look at the amount now. Contrast the percent increase from period to period, I think the results would be accepted as "flourishing" by any normal means of evaluation.(50%, 100%, 200%)  As for the GSDCA, again look at the numbers of dogs bred and shown under the banner of GSDCA, look at the advertisements in the GS Review, and I think that by any normal evaluative process we would conclude the numbers are dwindling. If you have information to the contrary I would be interested so as to correct my perceptions. I count the WDA and the USA as the same in terms of providing a forum for GS breeders to test their progeny and engage in sport.

Although my reading and knowledge on the RSV2000 is limited, I welcome any orgiization that promotes proper srtuctre and workabality to this breed.
