Jacob Angel

above is how she looked at just over 6 months.... pretty....but not looking like they are coming up at all. They did stand when she was younger for a couple of days.. but that was it... other than that... she would only hold them up when charging... This is the picture I used to ask everyone here what I should do.... and she looked not much different than that when we glued her at 7 months and 11 days old.

I did try to tape them with the inserts and blue painters tape.. per someone on this boards advice... this is a horrible idea.. and created more problems than I already had... MY ADVICE TO ANYONE WHO IS CONSIDERING TAPING OR USING GLUE IN THE DOGS EARS... IS TO USE KAMAR ADHESIVE AND THE DOGSPORT INSERTS... AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS WITH DIFFERENT METHODS... AND YES I DID USE THE PIPE INSULATION AS SEEN ON LEERBURGS WEBSITE TOO... THE DOGSPORT INSERTS AND KAMAR IS HANDS DOWN OR I SHOULD SAY "EARS UP' THE WAY TO GO!!!!!!!

Below is a pictue of her right after we glued in Dogsport ear inserts and Kamar Adhesive..then below that you will see that I used the paper towel roll trick and glued the cardboard to the foam inserts for added strength...I also took a sharpie and drew hair on the cardboard to camo the inserts... it worked pretty well. Some people didn't even notice them....

They stayed in like that for 5 weeks and a few days....

I took her swimming in the Ocean a few times towards the end of the 5 weeks... and the cardboard got wet... and the inserts started to come out.... a few days later I very carefully removed them.

Here she is yesterday not even 48 hours after I got them out.

and now I have two beautiful Long Coat G.S.D's and they BOTH look like G.S.D's  WHOOOO HOOOO!!!!!!

Glad it worked so well...I generally use toilet paper rolls as they're a bit more sturdy cardboard than papertowel rolls, but they do work well, and cost nuttin!!  Which is always best.  Finding the right kind of tape was the hardest thing.  Working @ the Vets I got to be the official ear taper, pill pusher, cat claw clipper and dog restrainer... LOL... all the GREAT jobs...

Stay...

HERE.....

sorry I hadn't finished the post yet... I had no idea 38 people would click on it, in the 10 minutes it took me to finish it!

Pictures are horrible, I am sorry... she is blowing her winter coat, and my camera is broken and I am using an old cell phone.

I've never heard of this adhesive or inserts.  Where did you get them and how much are they?  I'm always on the lookout for products that work and make a note of them for future use if need be!

Thanks Michele and Anja!  Momo... the inserts came from the following link.

I got the Kamar Adhesive from my vet... but it is just an adhesive used to attach tags to cattle.

It is some strong stuff!!!

Very BEst,
Jacob
