Hello!
I am very new to the dog game.Specially German Shepherds.
Last year I bought two German Shepherd dogs.A male named Mack and a female named Hilda. Both were SG 4 in their class in the 2008 Indian Sieger Show.
This was my first Sieger Show and I attended and participated in it with my two dogs without any major expectations.
Being a novice I was all excited.I was thrilled to be amongst who is who German Shepherds in India.I walked up to almost each and every exibit and interacted with the owners and handlers. Some were nice and forthcoming , some were informative and some shooed me a way.
I was surprised to see the quality of bred in India exibits.Specially the females.I am of the opinion that few of our bred in India females are at par with those in Germany.
On the day of the Open Class, things could not have been better for me.My female Hilda was placed V6 and my dog Mack V17.
As a rookie I was on top of the world. As I said, I attended the show without any major expections and had had walked out with laurels.I had breeders, owners and handlers walking up to me and giving me a pat on my shoulder.Few of them even commented - Not bad for a novice.
As I was going through the the above thread and its contents, I was totally taken aback at what is being written about the show.
My dogs did reasonably well in the show.Does that indicate that I have something going with the officials or the judges?
Why am I being made to feel through the posts that the whole line up of open classess has been fixed.I am sure there are more first timers like me whose dogs have been given a decent place. They too would not appericiate the contents of the posts.
There are people who are in this game or willing to join the game for the love of the breed. Please donot disillusion them or scare them off.All of us should see and ensure that India breeds one of the best specimens of the dog outside its country of origin.

Ajit Mathew - I have never written on this messageboard or commented on any dog on this website and have NO Other id.
I do not change my sex and write the way you did. In fact somebody called me and told me about your accusations and then only did I read all that was written. I will never write again but this has to be cleared up. I did NOT send my nomination for Committee since I NEVER wanted to be a DUMMY in Sanjay's Committee. It was Mohanty who forced me on the very last day to do so. I do not care about the results sinceI did not want to contest and I do not need the GSDCI to give me standing in the GSD community in India nor in the Indian Society. GSD breeders in India trust and respect me for my honesty and the young and upcoming ones for my encouragement.
MVaidyanathan - Congratulations on very clearly and correctly bringing out the facts .
