About time, too! As you probably know, this breed can't even reproduce without c-sections and artificial insemination!

Interesting link. There are lots of changes to the English standards and some are more than others.

Sorry if there is already a thread on this, I have been looking out for a discussion on this but may have missed it. This was published a couple of days ago.

Knee jerk reactions to manipulated public opinion. There are some breed standards that seriously need changing, imo the Bulldog is one of them. However the programme that brought this to a head, was so bias and incorrect, it beggared belief! Zamp was one of the dogs we got a fleeting glimpse (selectively edited) of at Crufts and he was used as a bad example. Terry Hannon, (Crufts judge) was also edited to look bad.
Our KC is a money making organisation with little or no interest in the health and welfare of dogs. They have been approached, numerous times by numerous breeds (ours included) regarding the implementation of beneficial health checks and a more rigid registration system to IMPROVE the lot of our dogs! They have shown no interest! MONEY talks and this programme, crappy as it was, could affect their income... so they've been forced to do something, yet, still have not agreed to change the things which would make a huge and beneficial difference to all breeds!
Our KC should hang its' head in shame!

Just a few examples for you! I define a roach as a back where the withers are not the highest point of the back. If you want to play around, and say this is the result of bad stacking, etc., sorry, I'm not interested in arguing.
When almost all of the U.K.'s show dogs are either German imports, or descended from German imports, how could they NOT be roached?

In case you've forgotten what a normal back looks like, here's a reminder:

I also could have put up a link to pictures of many of today's working line GSD's.

Sunsilver, I agree with you on one thing... I'm not interested in arguing either!
I can't believe you cite what (you say) 98% of our dogs look like then show me a dog from 1962, and some photos of other peoples dogs, to what? To ridicule? Some nice dogs on those links!
My guess is that some people don't know where the withers end and the back begins.... and then... where the back ends and the croup begins.
It's quite bewildering... you think all our dogs are Germanic roach backs and others on this forum are equally convinced, that all our dogs are old UK style! Neither's correct!
