From Germany, you need the Besch. From other countries, you need the export pedigree.  On the export pedigree, ensure that the puppy has been signed over to you as the owner.

  1. Photos of the dog, front shot and stack shot.
  2. Complete the AKC foreign resgistration.
  3. If you plan on breeding the dog later on, DNA is required on all foriegn registered dogs.

I would not send in you orignals, send certified copies. I was able to get a notary to sign on copies of orignals and certify them. AKC had no issue with doing it this way.

Good point.

Kinko's does an excellent job of color copies.

I only send notarized copies to the AKC nowadays. I had a set get lost on their way to the SV for the Bescheinigung once. Took ages to straighten that out and get duplicates. Of COURSE I bred the bitch in the mean time... Live and learn. Now I send them to Germany FedEx, with paid return, call to make sure they got there.

All the above except I just sent copies when I did it and didn't have them certified nor color copies....
