Editing a Pedigree - Page 1

hi !!  will someone please tell me how to edit my dog's pedigree.

I have Registered the Sire, but he still does not show up on her pedigree.  When i try to update her pedigree and edit to add the sire,  i get the "No information on this Sire" notice.  So i tried again to Register the Sire, and received an error notice that this dog is already Registered in the database.

i don't understand why i am unable to update her pedigree to add her Sire's information.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Make sure the dog is reg on the site, then type in the name of the dog as it written in the data base ie any titles that show with the dogs name , normally written in front of the name could be V or CH, should then be okay.

I had the exact same experience.  Hate to say how many times it took me but I finally figured out that I had capitalized the letter V on vom and that kept me from getting it edited.  Once I wrote down the name "exactly" as it appears then I was able to get the edit done.  Good luck!

start over -

make sure that all dogs are actually not registered.

do a search of just the first name or last name of each dog you are looking for..The data base is very sensitive to everyting lower case, spaces, and of course spelling..........

go back to the first un-registrerd dog and register it. make sure that all the information is typed EXACTLY as it appears on your pedigree document.

then go to the next.

I noticed all the peds you were posting.   Are you actively breeding and training in Montana?

Thank you for your reply.  I had searched the database for this dog, and did not find him registered.  So i registered him and his sire and dam.

i think the problem is this dog's name.  Reno de Von.  in my opinion this dog's name sounds incomplete, but nevertheless is this dog's AKC Registered name.

hi DebiSue.  thank you so much for your reply.  i take great care to type in the names exactly as they appear in either the pedigreedatabase or AKC certified pedigree.  i am spelling Reno de Von exactly the way it appears on the AKC certified pedigree

i think the "problem" is the name itself.  this is very frustrating :))    this is the only dog in Brenda vom Blockhaus' pedigree which i am having trouble with.  all of the other dogs in her pedigree are in this system.

hi SitasMom.  thank you very much for your reply.  When i registered Brenda vom Blockhaus in the pedigree database, only her Sire - Reno de Von was not registered in the database.   So i registered Reno de Von and his parents.

i took your advice this morning and unregistered Reno de Von (i registered him originally as well as his sire and dam), so i deleted his pedigree, started over, and re-Registered Reno de Von in the pedigreedatabase.  Then i went back and tried to update Brenda vom Blockhaus' pedigree to add her Sire, Reno de Von,  and the same thing happened.  I receive a whole list of about 150 dogs with Reno as part of their name  (Cobert's Reno of Lakeside, for example)  but NOT Reno de Von.

the only option is to choose "No information on this Sire"  because Reno de Von is not coming up.
