Why German Shepherds are The Best Breed? - Page 1

Hello Everyone,

My daughter asked me today to help her in choosing a topic for her persuasive essay.  I immediately told her to write about Why German Shepherds are The Best Breed?  I can think of few reasons why myself, but I would like the input of the experts in this forum and any outside resources.  I appreciate your help.

OK, people aren't interested in discussing the obvious, Why German Shepherds are the Best Breed?

How about a counter argument. Why German Shepherds are Not the Best Breed? May be I'll have to go to a non-GSD forum to initiate a discussion on that one!

They are not the best breed. They are second or third best at just about everything though.

German Shepherds are the best breed for their particular purpose.

I wouldn't ask my Shepherd to Point at a quail even if she would she'd look out of place.

I am sure my dog would tree a coon, but nothing sounds like a coondhound running a coon.

Best breeds can be found in every niche of our dogs particular expertise.

Maybe best all round breed for versitility would be better topic title.

It might depend on what kind of dog owner you ask.

The best coon dog i ever seen was a collie german shepherd cross.It was in the seventies,those rednecks swore by that dog..These guys were serious about hunting and dogs..when i saw that dog in action i knew what they ment..She was ruthless..

I use to always think that as well because of the pricing on the gsd. Any how while we are in this discussion I had a question to add since a friend(former) of mine got into an agrument about it why are the gsd priced higher than the malinois and dutchie? I always thought because they were better than the two and they are popular breed. She said its because its hard to produce good ones so when they do get good ones they are priced high vs mal and dutchies majority (more than gsd) are better and are cheaper. Does that make any sense?
