Can someone give me their opinions on which is the better "show" quality pup? I am learning and would like to get some opinions. The pic above and just below I will refer to as GSD1...Front pics and below a side view of same pup...

Below is GSD2..front and side views. Please review and critique and again please give me your idea of the pros/cons on each as far as which is better for show at this stage .....

Thank you all in advance for your help. I truly appreciate it. By the way they are both males and from my novice point of view I think probably GSD2 is the slightly more equipped at this stage for a future in showing but in my mind both would probably do fine but more importantly please give me YOUR point of view. Thanks again for your time/consideration.

I would prefer #2 has a better angulation on the backhand and has a longer croup and witherist is also high as I can see on the picture

Sportsfan, number 2 for me, prefer his head, slightly more masculine, nice angles fore and aft, nice overline and croup, looks to have slightly better bone than 1, overall more balanced. I have to add though the 2nd puppy is stood better than the 1st.  I am sure you will make the best choice as we are only judging a posed picture of a puppy. Good luck with which ever puppy you choose, and have fun showing your new baby. liz

Very tough to pick puppies from pic alone. Can't tell anything about personalities, drive, etc. If you must proceed, do it with caution. Nice looking pup with personality issues can still leave you 'lacking'. Are you only planning on doing conformation showing only? No trialing? If you wanna trial also(SchH), personality/drive is equally important to structure, especially in WGR show line dogs where drive is relatively mild. If you plan to conformation show only, well, ??
If you are a novice in this, get someone reputable in a club who's experienced (and unbiased) to HELP you decide. Key words-reputable and experienced. Don't try to do it alone. Are these puppies out of conformation rated and titled parents? If not, how can one pick a show quality male from unproven parents? Keep all these things in mind also. Its the best advice/opinion I can give on this situation.

No 2 is, in my opinion, the better show dog prospect. Angulation, confirmation etc is very good and the pup looks to be very well proportioned and balanced. As others have said, the important thing to bear in mind at this stage is whether you intend to solely concentrate on the show world  as there are many dogs who excel in the show ring but lack suficient drive for schutzhund etc. Good luck with whichever pup you opt for.

Just from photo, And age they are at present.

Puppy 2, better in front angle, stronger in pasterns and stronger/shorter in hocks,  puppy 1 has stronger pigment at this stage.

I also think #2 is the far better pup - though they can change drastically and #1 may surprise you later!
