Wow! I joined this board only a couple months ago and can't get over the attitude of alot of the people here.  Everyone seems to be bashing everyone on a steady basis.  Is this the norm or is it  just a bad few months?  I don't understand why on earth we can't just be a little more civil to one another and why there is so much hostility...not to mention the name calling and foul language.

Can someone explain to me why this is?

Because SOME OF THESE PEOPLE ,,"THINK THEIR CRAP DON'T STINK", I got news for them!!

In ALL HONESTY, most of these people here are GREAT, TRULY KNOWLEDGEABLE PEOPLE! If you have been observing for awhile, YOU SHOULD KNOW WHO, is for real, and who isn't!"

Some have NOTHING BETTER TO DO, than SLAM others. I guess MISERABLE PEOPLE, living MISERABLE lives.

Ask your questions, and take it as it comes. AS I STATED,, MOST ARE DECENT, HELPFUL PEOPLE!!!!

The first time I found this board, I was soon driven away by all the bickering and name-calling. I've since learned to ignore it, for the most part.

There ARE some very, very knowledgeable people here, and I have learned A  LOT from them. You just have to be able to sift out the wheat from the chaff!

I often wonder how many knowledgeable people have been driven away from the board by all the crap that goes on. I definitely think the board would be a much better, more welcoming place if it were PROPERLY MODERATED!

LOL....

Well Lynn,

It depends on the thread you choose to read.

There is no explaination for it, try visiting an unmoderated chatroom sometime, if you can find a real one, its the same way.

Humans are what they are... same as on the street except you don't see it because your in motion.    Personally I miss the old day's when you could find one of these wild anything goes chatrooms.  They are all but gone now.

This board is as close as anything these days.   Learn from it, post what you will and be ready for whatever comes from it.

There are many informative posts and some not so informative, some purely social, and some total BS.   Be glad you have a choice.

Nice to meet you Lynn, I hope you can find a way to enjoy yourself and find some valuable knowledge along the way.

And don't be afraid to join in some of the nonsense sometime.

Brent.

I have been watching this board silently for a few years now and can honestly say.......I seriously doubt anything is going to change. This board is full of  "day time drama" and personal vendettas and has been as long as I have been reading.

Because the GSD is unfortunately, such a diverse breed with many different types and followers, oftentimes people's opinions clash. I may be out of line, but IMO most of the posters on here are VERY passionate about the breed and of course....many of the people are somewhat close-minded and believe there opinion is undeniably RIGHT. This I dont mind. I really like reading heated debates redgarding dogs  bloodlines and training methods, its both entertaining and informative when some of the more knowledgable people start getting involved and provides the oppotunity to read some really good points and great thoughts that would not be sounded on other forums.

This place is "raw".

I have noticed it is usually limited to a select group of people whom go off-topic and spew slanderous garabage unto eachother. They pollute this forum with petty crap on a weekly basis. Yes, its annoying and it certainly makes the forum look less credible and uninviting. But my advice to you is this;  dont get invloved, tread lightly and be a filter for your own mind.

Once you weed through the crap, this is really a great place with an amazing bunch of people.

Good luck!!

Lynn:

That which does not kill us makes us stronger.

Were like a bunch of old married folks here argue and bicker but most of the time we still love one another.

Ya some times even I have to check the site name that I,m on to make sure i,m in the right place but all in all there is alot of info out there to pick up and most people here are willing to help.

We always seem to kiss and make up if not on the forum thru p.m.

As stated, there is a wealth of information and assistance here. But, it is an open, unmoderated board, too. You have, undoubtedly, already seen where the spewing of profanity and name-calling comes from. If not, just click on a name and ALL of their recent postings will be listed on the page. Sample a few and you will quickly be able to determine whose posts to simple skip over as childish drivel and which are actually attempting to answer, or pose, questions. There are informative discussions here. You can often tell by the identity of the original poster, or the subject, which threads to relegate to "daytime drama," or cheap entertainment. :-)
