Jeckl8

Yesterday I wanted to show this female the first time in puppy class.

Judge called here on last place.

He told me, he knows, she should be placed better from sideview, but she has a big mayor fault, here  front is not straight, ellbows are wide open.

What do you think, will this now happen, cause he is a jugde? Do I have to expect that she will get open cause a judge said she is, or will she still stay complete straight and closed, cause that is genetic?

Your opinion please!

Very nice bitch.  Doesn't appear wide in front in your photo.  Maybe the judge just liked the other bitches a little more or she is a little bit wide at this age.  Have an experineced breed warden give you an opinion and keep trying.  This looks like a very high quality bitch which excellent front angulation and layback and very good rear angulation and nice croup too.

She is very nice.

I order to see whether elbows are not properly closed one must see her in movement, coming and going. It could be temporary situation. She is young and not firm.

Open ellbows you only can see when the frontlegs are parallel and straight below withers and can have 3 reasons, long but steep upperarm, chest not deep enough or front ain't straight.

Very good female. anyday at the top. was this an all breeds show or a speciality for GSds? was the judge an SV judge?

GSD Show, judge Christoph Ludwig (von der Zenteiche) rest of class below medium quality (no type, 20° incorrect in front , light eyes, no substance, short steep upperarm etc.)

She's a baby still, give her some time.  Walking on sand generally helps tighten everything up... worth a try!  If all else fails... get rid of her.

I'll take her off your hands!

Your female doesn have anything of what you have mentioned and still elbows are not closed. So its not that simple.

So she turned last in one show, who cares. It is too early to get discouraged and as you can see there are some people here who would gladly help you to get rid of her.

General lack of firmness is not uncomon with young dogs. Ando line was cricized for lack of firmness in the back. You may look for a reason in that field. She is very young and she will improve.

"So she turned last in one show, who cares."

Next time she will placed last cause she was placed last the week before....

A good dog has to stay a good dog.
