If this is true it does not make much sense, as Ilbo the other good producing Yac son is already in Ireland.

Wouldn't Joerg Niedergassel cut his own chances of achieving VA-1 next year if he sells him now?

If it is true, the luck is on the Irish side. Too bad for the rest of us. I have a female in Germany I would have liked to breed to Odin in the spring. I wish Odin's new owner the best with that magnificent male.

If they did sell him its because he is not getting the studs in Germany no one wants to use him over there 27 studs is all he had this year.

I was somewhat surprised at the figure of 27 studs as I regulary see his with several each month on the SID.  I decided to count for this year so far and he has 71 matings which have gone through and there are still 2 months to go.  Certainly does not look like no one wants to use him, does it?  I for one hope he has come to Ireland giving access to another top quality stud dog to more people from the UK.  If he has been sold then good luck to his new owners, you have a super, super male.

I think its great for the breed that we have all these top males are coming to Ireland and i for one will be going over to use them. But people in the Uk and Ireland will always bad mouth top dogs and not use the top dogs here they will always go back to Germany to use the dogs over there and not the ones in there home land.

What a week for the GSD breed in Ireland ! well done and congratulations to whom ever has brought another super male to these shores. With Dogs like Ilbo, Xaro, and Odin in this country we now have 3 completely different yet all outstanding males to breed from without the added expense of having to travel too. Well done all Involved! Do you guys not know that there is a recession on.....!

You need to read the newspapers guys! (and galls, no offence!)

Jörg Niedergassel has received an SV breed book ban for the duration of 4 months, starting September 1st. Imagine the financial loss, keeping the dog on the premises in Germany, without any stud jobs whatsoever! (Read my study: The Stud Business in the SV Kennel Club.)

Odin can NEVER EVER be Sieger, after what happened during the last months (Meyer, size, Nando, Fetten). He is definitely TOO BIG, read my lips, TOO BIG. So if he can't achieve better places yet, why not sell him for xxx.xxx Euro (no, I can't tell that here, that's private).

Godspeed!

Jan,

Joerg received a 4 month breed book ban, I know that. That does not affect any of the stud dogs. I bred to Nick in September. They all have co-owners.
