Mr. GSD your post has vanished, for whatever reasons. Others have remained. Well, if you see this, Mr. GSD I do not understand your praise for Tabata. A dog that is so bow-legged in the front all people just point and hush. A gorgeous dog from the side, I agree and great expression. But does she not have a tremendous hindrance with her forefront? And Lenny, did you not get this dog on CD? I don't know if I am crazy in trying to see things as they are. But, if I had a dog with such a forefront, I would sell her as pet.

When I consider "why" Tabata, first I think judge, then I think sire, then I think dam. My evaluation from the GRANDSTAND is as follows: beautiful type, very good color, very good head, very strong middle piece, very good shoulder opening, lacks length of femur and tibia, and articulation at knee and hock joints, i.e. not much rear. All of this is readily apparent on the DVD as she circles the stadium by herself. I have no knowledge of her character or her working ability. From the SEATS I could not see her coming or going. What you say may be true. Further, over the years there have been many Select animals who have been 'not good' coming and going. The Sieger in '03 is bow legged in front and cow hocked in rear. Readily seen on the '03 DVD. The Sieger in '68 came at you like he was knitting a sweater. The Sieger in '86 was pinched in front, and the Sieger in '93 was cow hocked. Just to mention a few. One would believe they don't consider these faults as problematic in breeding. What they seem to be emphatic about is Select animals who have pedigrees that are saturated with dogs and bitches they love as individuals and as producers. Make no mistake, this is the finest TOTAL breeding program in the world. Curious at times but they still produce many truly great animals.

Tabata, undoubtedly gorgeous. But where she took VA1 in Belgium is likewise as bow legged as VA2 at the BSZS in Karlruhe. As a novice looking on, just wondering what it really takes to get a top ranking. Certainly not that front! What a feat for this poor dog to do her rounds with her physical incapacity. Poor dog! Maybe right dam and sire but poor dog. She had to struggle. In Belgium and in Karlsruhe. But I guess the breeders and owners got their reward. For those that look on, a real shame to the breed.

What's goin on about this great bitch ? Are you jalous ? Nobody is perfect but for sure, a mother line is one of the strongest in Europe : Minnie de Parilly, Ronda du Val d'Anzin and Tabata; The fourth generation with Vana and Vourasie follows the same success. So, please, a lot of breeders will be very happy with such a bitch like Tabata in their breeding program. Best regards FH

Right Franck, from the past year we have all died on the subject. Do you desire to bring it back? We all want those fronts with the bow legs. Really ideal for a herding dog. That is what we want in our lines!!! Makes them especially lovable especially with that motherline. They can mount them without a problem if that is what you want.
