SPARKY

by SPARKY on 18 October 2008 - 13:10

With a very heavy sad heart,  To to say that Troll (Max) was put to sleep this morning.

Sadly old age got the better of him and could no longer keep going.

This dog was a great ambassador to the Breed and especially to the Working GSD

He will be  missed very much.

How sad I am to hear of Troll's passing today, a truly excellent German Shepherd, an asset to the Breed. He will live on in his progeny, being sire to so many titled working dogs, including this year's WUSV Champion and also Casper v Matschenka who took 11th place.

As you know Fiona, I too, have first hand knowledge of his progeny in his super daughter, Coleen v Matschenka, who I was privileged to have from you at the end of last year. She has also passed on his talents to the puppies in her 1st. litter and hopefully to those in her 2nd litter, whose sire is himself, a Troll grandson!

It must be a great comfort to at least know that he died of old age and not some awful disease where he may have suffered and died a premature death.

Kind regards,

 Ros

my sincerest condolences.  while it is never easy to lose them, at least he enjoyed a full, long life.  and yes, he made great contributions to the breed.  memories of the good times will help carry you through the tough ones.  :)
