'Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples' liberty's teeth. '
George Washington, US Founding Father

“Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people’s liberty teeth and keystone under independence.

The church, the plow, the prarie wagon, and citizen’s firearms are indelibly related. From the hour the Pilgrims landed, to the present day, events, occurrences, and tendencies prove that to insure peace, security and happiness, the rifle and the pistol are equally indispensable.

Every corner of this land knows firearms, and more than 99 99/100 percent of them by their silence indicate they are in safe and sane hands. The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference; they deserve a place with all that’s good. When firearms, go all goes; we need them every hour.”-George Washington

I'm sorry carebear,

Not taking anyone's side but there is much about human's and war and violence you just don't understand.

You are right tho... there are no real winner's and the innocent alway's pay the highest price.

Would you prefer slavery to war tho...  I'd rather die free fighting than live long under the yoke.

It's not like this hasn't been going on since the beginning of time.

It's not all ilk as you put it.   It's human nature.

Anyway I got bigger fish to fry right now so I'l leave you two for higher ground.

Moon's.

Is this a Dog Forum or is it a Forum about who does what and who owns the most Guns in the USA

Has anyone noticed that each time Guns are mentioned the thread goes on and on, You people over there are paranoid about Guns,

i spoke to several last night at the training club and some said Yes, if the situation in the USA gets much worse regards the Economy and if this Election does not work out then some say the people will turn against each other and then we will see a big gunfight bigger than the OK corral

You say you are Free, yet you have to apply it seems to keep Dogs in many circumtances,

according to some over here to get into the USA it is like going round in circles and that is at the airports, people visting say the tension around them with officals is like rocket fuel just waiting at customs, and the time it takes and the rudeness of those people is unreal, and why because the same officals are on edge all the time

You have more what you cannot do than the ones you can do at least when it comes to owning Dogs

We get none of this in the UK or Belgium, you do not need permits or to ask anyone if you want to keep Dogs, i suppose in private renting you may have to ask but otherwise no

It may give you a sense of security owning Guns but i think if NO ordinary person was allowed to and if you live in a normal peacefull country what is the need of them, if you do need a gun as security or to keep you just safe then there is something very wrong in the system over there

However back to the first part of this post

What i am saying is that you people have more interest in Guns than German Shepherd Dogs, that is for sure and cannot be disputed, the rating prove it no G.S thread goes on with so many replies as a Gun thread

How is this so

there will always be crime, everywhere has it but not to the extent where you have to have a gun to feel safe, that to millions of people including me seems wrong

Steve ,

Do you need someone to talk too??

Hey man,  I was cutting fire wood today, Oak, and I caught my dog eating the saw dust.. Would saw dust be considered dietary fiber??

I can't even begin to believe it tasted good, not Oak.   I feed her very well and can't figure out this behavior at all.

Any idea's?

Brent.

A sarcastic reply for which it seems again is a in thing over there, why the need for it. a straight foreward answer is all that is needed

we were discussing different Dog forums over a drink at the club last night after the Training, and i asked if anyone there ever looked at this Forum, and the reply was no, a lot looked at the Pedigree part but that was all

I was asked why i asked, and as it does the subjects went around and i mentioned the many  posts on Guns, and the enclosed above is some of the reactions to it,

I sure did not say anything nasty about the people posting or the site itsself

a different country and a another way of thinking and so it should be,there is nothing wrong in that

But as i seem to get sarcastic remarks from some my posts seem to hit a nerve with some so there must be something right in what i say

As regards to bringing your Dog into the equastion, and its eating sawdust , Yes i would guess Saw Dust goes into Dog kibble it would not suprise me, but on a lighter note, perhaps your Dog is attracted to the Sawdust because it has the need for certain Oil vitamins lacking in its diet

If you do not already do so then try giving it a squirt of Salmon Oil on its Kibble once a day

Don;t' cut your hands on that Axe

Best

 Steve1,

I submit the idea that not all American's have a gun fetish. Though I agree it certainly appears that way on this board by the posting statistics, and I submit the supporters feel more of a need for stumping their position. In a country as large as ours, don't be fooled to think we are all of the same mind. The gun is supposedly the great equalizer, unfortunately its ownership and necessity are often shouted about, over any real sense to the fact that brain power is not a pre-requisite to gun ownership. And this is real a danger to innocents.

If you even had a smidgeon of sense, youd know that a disarmed nation, is a nation of slaves. View the photos in the above link if you need a better reminder. Youve been castrated and England now has record levels of crime & attacks. I read the stats. Same in Australia. Youre nation is worse- as a rogue, than ours, and you have the nerve to say we are paranoid or have a 'fetish'

No, we view arms as an intrinsic Necessity to be Free, to preserve our liberties & way of life.  You obviously dont cherish this as we do, you live under the worlds most watched eyes, with cameras in every locale, restricted from even wearing ball caps in bars & in a nation with the worst record of colonialism, oppression next to the USA & Israel... Its too difficult to maintain any conversation with those so deluded.

'None are so enslaved, as those who think they are free'

Steve,

I give my dog's canned salmon and oak is very acidic so it's not an oil issue.   If I had to guess it's a salty taste.  I didn't try any so I'm not sure.

If your gonna watch out for something while cutting firewood it's usually best to watch your head, feet and leg's.   A friend was just killed by a hung limb, what we call a widow maker.   The ax is for splitting and knocking off limb's, we cut tree's with chain saw's.   In the old day's firewood was cut using a handsaw after the tree was felled by ax.   Usually the tree itself was used for board's or beam's and only the outer limb's were burnt as firewood.   These day's we throw ax's for sport and competition.

The answer to your question is,  It is a message board.   A forum no.  Altho sometime's it seem's like one to some.

I believe we know far too little about each other's live's and culture these day's, unless you travel and spend time in another country you only know little bit's and piece's, and usually those are out of context or flat out wrong.    I know very little about other countries and try not to assume anything.   Certainly I would never base a country on the news media or a message board.   And I would not equate a people with their government.   People are all the same everywhere.

America is the way it is because we represent people from every corner of the globe.   The great melting pot.   Even within our own country state's can be very different and we have so very many different point's of view because of it.

We are not anymore obsessed with gun's than we are with car's, sex, drug's, gambling, sport's of every kind, alcohol, celebrity, entertainment, wealth, law, weather, home, family, friend's, religion, dog's, cat's , horse's, UFO's, music, food.

Hell I could go on forever.

In America you can be obsessed about anything you like pretty much, and thing's can change depending on what street corner your on.

It's great !

Brent.
