As my Ol Pal, Clarence Worley say's, "it's better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it." I always pack. I keep a gun in every room of the house.

I have a carry conceal permit, and I also would never be without a gun in my house. Gun + Dogs = Good night sleep.

I don't own one, but I absolutely would if I knew how to shoot. When we can afford a rifle for my fiancee, he's going to teach me how.

My hubby is a gunsmith/collector. He has so many from AK's and AR's to 12 guage and 20 guage, .22, daisy .22 for the kid's, muzzle loaders to handguns, kimber 45, Smith and Wesson 45, I have a Karr 9 mm. There are too many to count. And a faithful GSD asleep near the door...

well, they just come in handy.......gettin' rid of varmits. skunks, coons, possums, etc. if my hubby hadn't shot the stray cat that bit me, i would have had to take the routine 13 injections for rabies. lucky, he's a good shot and we were able to send the cat's head in for evaluation and spared me a lot of anguish. we've always had handguns, shotguns and rifles. when you live on a farm, you need to have guns. also, you never know when an emergency could occur and you need to put an animal down in a hurry. sometimes you can't wait on the vet. all of our neighbors have dogs and guns, too. we all sleep pretty well and don't worry much about intruders.

There are numerous incidents where a nation has disarmed its public. Everytime, eventually genocide has occurred. When the citizens lose their ability to use firearms to protect themselves, their own gov't will be taken over by thugs and tyranny will rule the day. That is why our founding fathers wrote in the Second Amendment. And in their many writings about it they clearly communicated that the right to bear arms wasn'r for hunting, but to keep the gov't from developing tyranny against the people. What miost forget is that what precipitated the revolutionary war was the British confiscating homes with no payment, excessive taxation and confiscating firearms. It was the confiscaton of firearms that was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Absolutely right, Preston. I own a number of guns and keep some of them loaded. Guns and GSDs give me peace of mind.

I like the guns plus dogs equal good night sleep. I am same with 9mm and very civil czech dog loose in my 6ft tall fenced property. Was attacked years ago while wash car and had to use my 9mm. Always have permit and be safe with guns. Protect yourself always.Know of your rights and always keep an eye of surroundings. Best regards
