A translation of my study: "Das Deckgeschehen im Schosse des SV 2003-2007" has now been published on my weblog.

This study was the basis for my paper: "The Bottleneck of the Century, Made by the SV".

When interested, please follow the link: http://www.bloggen.be/hd/archief.php?ID=26860

I will welcome any comment you might have.

Jantie, get out here and please never come back again....

Why don`t you go to the poodle club, perhaps this could be the right dog for you!

I don't respond here much but this is the most ridiculous scribble I have ever read!

One dimensional study layering sprits of fact statistics in globs of emotion to supposidly validate what point?! Totally useless "study". No equation of the females bred to or the lines bred on or not.......No discussion of ZW ratings. Every organization will have drivers influenced by money and politics. So what is you point, ZERO! Huge waist of my time even reading it, can't imagine how much time you waisted putting together this bowl of senseless crap.

Spunio is correct, find another breed like hamsters, maybe it would be easier for you to study!

Jantie you are a bad lyer with a very ugly charakter!

by Jantie on 20 September 2008 - 12:09

Dear Sirs,

I'm NOT impressed by your personal attacks. And I forgive you.

Note 1: As can be checked easily through this website itself, Spunio is Mister Norbert Zapf von Plankenfels, Germany, a breeder of GSD's (vom Monopteros), thus very well at home in this "business". I am very sorry if he feels affected. He has advised me on different occasions to go and breed poodles. He will be happy to hear, I am still giving that idea a great deal of consideration.

Note 2: And Greg "Ehrenwald" Sapienza from Ehrenwald GSD's in Florida, informs us on his webpresence, that linebreeding of his actual litter is on VA1 Sieger Ursus von Batu (see Bottleneck). "We only purchase and breed champion pedigree dogs."

Now I have in no way attacked either one of you personally, and would appreciate it, if you would just let me be. If you are offended by my papers, I offer you my appologies, but please do take a moment, to reflect on my work. You take profit in this business, which of course, is fine with me, you are entitled to it. But one can hardly call you unbiased.

Jan

Jeckl8 who has just responded as nice as his collegues, lives off the Business also.

Waste of time reacting to them, dear Readers, make your own judgements. The insults that might follow, will probably all be written by "Business"-people.

Got to go!

It makes me wonder why on earth anyone would get so upset about an independent study if they weren't involved in exactly what the study is all about??? Personally, I welcome all the information I can get about bloodlines. The more knowledge we have the better informed we are about breeding better animals. Thank you Jantie for your efforts. Judy

Agreed - this is hitting too close to home for some people. I switched to working line shepherds after our last showline passed away (multiple health problems, and yes, his father line went back to the Q litter Arminius (Quando) and Palme on both sides of his pedigree (his mother was a granddaughter of Uran Wildsteigerland). Not to say that the working lines don't have their own bottlenecks , but it's not as bad as the showlines, and the two dogs I have now( combined) are healthier than our old fellow...........

Thank you Jantie - your efforts are appreciated by some of us out here!

Hi Jantie, I also agree with Judy and Anja the previous posters wouldnt be abusive unless the y had something to hide or the fact their lines are also inbred on Palme and her progeny, People need to be aware of problems within the breed no matter what lines they are from, if you dont know or believe it doesnt happen how can you change your breeding practice. If people keep on staying silent and hiding their heads in the sand the Breed will not survive.

Thanks for posting your views, Jantie.  While I may not agree with everything you assert, you do make some good points.  And I respect your right to have your own opinions on the GSD breed.  It is good to represent all views on what is wrong with the breed, what is right with it, and how to best correct the deficiencies without "throwing the baby out with the bathwater".
