Diatomaceous Earth - Experimental Feeding of Codex Food-grade Diatomaceous Earth to Zoo Animals Richard Smith, Hallwood Inc., Animal Food Specialties, Grand Rapids, Michigan
A mixture of feed incorporating 2% diatomaceous earth was sent to three zoos for evaluation. John Ball Park of Grand Rapids, Michigan; Brookfield Zoos of Chicago Illinois; and Buffalo Zoo of Buffalo, New York. John Ball and Buffalo Zoos reported that their black bears on the special feed showed a better coat and clearer eyes. The primates fed at the Brookfield Zoo displayed a pronounced improvement in both appearance and behavior. Stool samples taken at all three zoos showed an absence of any internal parasites - adult or egg. Parasites in these animals were present prior to using the diatomaceous earth food mixture.
Just some thoughts!

Diatomaceous Earth is awesome. I was having trouble with round worms in my puppies, even after worming. I used DE in the the food of the adults and puppies and no more worms. I now use it every 3 months for a preventative.

This is an amazing product...every dog, every pup and every day here. As above...mix in food daily and your worm issues are gone :)

spartshep, how much do you use on a daily basis. It seemed to cause soft stools here if I used over a months time.

Jan,
I use between 2 and 3 tablespoons daily. I have yet to see a loose or soft stool. I started my dogs on it about 2 - 3 months ago. I started out slow and worked my way up to the dosage as it states on the bag/site. I use the very same product from Wolfcreek Ranch, spoke to the owners and this was their advice.

Much Props to all who get benefit from this product. I care for large numbers of dogs. When I have a problem, its a big problem. About 11yrs ago, I was turned on to this DE. I gave it a try. The only thing DE did for me, was to make a mess in my window sills, and everywhere else I put it. I fed it, and rubbed it on the dogs. All it ever did for me and my dogs was make a mess. (The flies Loved it)!
