What really matters to Conservatives about their candidates is their ability to make decisions under pressure, their ability to stand by those decisions, and their willingness to accept the consequences - however bad they may be - and also accept the responsibility of making new decisions to address those consequences, as necessary.

I don't know a lot about McCain's political career, but I *do* know that he was a Naval officer. Having served under my share of them (U.S. Navy, 85 to 91, USS Enterprise 87 to 91), I know that McCain's been trained in accountability.

While I don't know a lot about Palin, it seems she's done a good job staring down the forces of corruption in Alaskan gubernatorial politics. She's made hard calls and stood by them while facing down angry men.

The essence of a good Commander-in-Chief is that he can look some ass**** right in the eye, tell him to go f*** himself, and not blink while doing so, if that's what he honestly believes - to the best of his knowledge - is the right thing to do in order to further the goals of America's interests, whether domestically or overseas.

I don't think Obama has the stones to do that.

I KNOW McCain has them.

And I suspect that - while not technically stones - Palin's titanium ovaries are equally qualified.

Asia Needs Deal to Prevent Panic Selling of U.S. Debt, Yu Says

Sept. 25 (Bloomberg) -- Japan, China and other holders of U.S. government debt must quickly reach an agreement to prevent panic sales leading to a global financial collapse, said Yu Yongding, a former adviser to the Chinese central bank.

``We are in the same boat, we must cooperate,'' Yu said in an interview in Beijing on Sept. 23. ``If there's no selling in a panicked way, then China willingly can continue to provide our financial support by continuing to hold U.S. assets.''

An agreement is needed so that no nation rushes to sell, ``causing a collapse,'' Yu said. Japan is the biggest owner of U.S. Treasury bills, holding $593 billion, and China is second with $519 billion. Asian countries together hold half of the $2.67 trillion total held by foreign nations.

 Joe Biden is spitting out gaffes faster than the Obama campaign can correct, respond to or 're-spin'. He said FDR 'addressed the nation on television during the Great Depression' - twenty years before the first TVs were available. He said the McCain/computer illiteracy ad run by Team Obama was 'terrible'. He said that 'Obama better not come after his gun'. He reversed himself on the AIG bailout. For some reason, Obama is presented as a 'loose cannon' with his muslim heritage,  whereas McCain is a loyal Israel devotee, &  seems to be backed by AIPAC & many American Jews.   They are  really pushing him hard, every controlled media outlet is throwing out the same drivel & rhetoric.   Almsot makes me want to vote for Obama as Im so anti Apartheid, & Anti Israel.  Not really Anti Israel, Im just Pro America.

I was John McCain's Navy Flight Instructor --- in formation tactics and air-to-air-gunnery. I could write a book about this man. Suffice to state, I shudder (and I'm fearless) at the nightmare thought of this man becoming our next President and Commander in Chief. I am not alone as to this man's former shipmates, instructors and senior officers --- as to who and what this man is really all about. Although politics is really theater and the best performing actor gets to stay on the main stage --- sorta like American Idol only much more dangerous to all living things --- the performance and the make-over (re-invention) of this man is currently matched only by that of former LTC Oliver North, USMC (Ret.). Together on the same ticket, these two clowns would be real crowd pleasers in this sorry day and age of liars, banal dummies and limp-headed performers.

Thanx for having the guts to put the real deal information on the site re: John Sidney McCain III --- since the mainstream media is much too lazy to put the real story on McCain out there for the rest of their lazy consumers.

I can appreciate folks wanted someone who understands working people but putting her on the ticket is insulting.  they sure lost my vote when they did that.  what's wrong with someone with the brains and skills to actually be effective at the job their seeking.  I loved Craig Ferguson last night talking about how we deify people and how dangerous it is to do that.  no one running nor anyone who ever has or will run deserves anyones blind faith.  we need to never stop asking the hard questions and start really holding people who work for us (all politicians including the pres and vp) to a standard their jobs require.
