I have had some adverse affects from giving Heartgard Plus to breeding females when given close to the time of breeding-should be considered. It can cause low birth numbers, and if you aren't careful, miscarriage if given within a few weeks after breeding. When I switched over to Sentinel, the problem disappeared and both girls produced nice normal litters. The Heartgard Plus never affected overall fertility long-term.
